"Sorry, you cannot rate this thread" every time...
 

Hi,

I was told to post here about this issue. Every time I either try to rate a thread or a modification I am given: "Sorry you cannot rate this thread".

Any ideas why?

Seems like you have to have installed an addon first.

Can you post a link to a thread you are trying to rate and cannot?

Yeah you can only rate if the mod is marked as installed, Which is a good thing, cause how can you rate it if it is not installed. :)

You downloaded it? You reviewed the code? You did a test installation.

No, I am just saying why the original poster can't rate whatever mod he was trying to rate, cause it was not marked as installed.

You asked how else could I rate it, if its not installed. I gave you valid examples.

A recent change now requires you to have the mod "Marked as Installed" before you can rate it.

If you stop using the mod you can always mark it as uninstalled later.

Can mod author see who has installed the mod?

If the person has posted in the thread they can.

Just re-read and checked only modification/addons related topics are restricted from being rated if not installed (found this proper too).
Modification should be installed for rating makes more sense comparatively.

I was surprised cause could not locate ;) the same horizontal rating system on topics in rest of forums.. Which is set to default layout..

I will recommend, changing thread rating to horizontal format (like modification forums) for all forums :)
