Responsive Theme Request
Hey vBulletin members, I would like to request for any free vbulletin responsive design. I would really appreciate your efforts.
Thanx |
So you want someone to rewrite the entire vBulletin 4 style from the ground up in responsive for free?
|
Woohoo I don't know the vb codes yet, how much it will cost if I request for one, any idea???
|
So any idea of how to make the default theme responsive.. Anyone???
|
You'd pretty much be redoing the entire style from scratch.
|
I spent over 2 weeks to use twitter bootstrap and still not completed.
|
I suspect something like this, for a single well skilled person is a 60-120 hour job. To do It right, you're going to be rewriting every template and css bit from scratch.
You'd be looking at 2k~ minimum, if you were to pay someone to do this for you. |
Bit of an over exaggeration of having to redo the entire theme, most things can be accomplished with CSS alone and if you are not fussy about having every single function that the full site offers responsiveness is more than accomplish-able with CSS and a couple of template tweaks.
Ive been working on on for http://www.tottenhamhotspurs.tv/forum/ , its not completely finished yet but its usable as a responsive theme. I do agree with Zach though with price ranges, depending on the theme being done it could be anywhere between $1000 - $3000. |
I said If you wanted to do it right :p

Taking any page and making it collapsible is a pretty simple thing, but this just gives the look of a responsive design and maybe that is all you are looking for. In my department it took 2 guys 1.5 weeks to fully implement/test the code change. That does not count the research and outline of the project. Anyway, if I am explaining things you already know, forgive me, I was trying to educate others. as a whole, that might read this thread. @AdamH - Your site looks nice. |
Absolutely your 100% correct, although most people don't see it in that manor and just want a theme which works well with mobiles regardless of whether it has a full feature set.
In my opinion spending a couple of weeks developing a solution which is "right" isnt what most people are looking for if they are choosing to stick with VB4 unless its specifically needed or they have the budget to float around , the quick HTML/CSS and template edit solution i have done is still more feature rich and equally as quick than vbulletin's mobile theme or any solution for VB4 , maybe with the exception of Tapatalk but thats not everyones cup of tea. Lets be honest if we wanted to do it properly rather than spend time and money on it id just move the site to xenforo instead. |
