[DBTech] Original Poster In Postbit v1 (vB4)
 

Why use, Original Poster In Postbit?

This will add the text Original Poster to the person who started the thread. It will be added to every post that person makes in the thread except the first post. There are eight locations to choose from to display the text.

If a user clicks on the Original Poster text, they will be taken to the first post in the thread.

It's just a nifty little thing, so in long threads, everyone will know if it is the person who made thread replying in it.

What does 'Marking As Installed' do ?

* It helps you to stay on top of updates - members who have installed modifications will be notified by us whenever new updates are available.

To change Original Poster to Thread Starter, edit the phrase, dbtech_original_poster_op

To color the text in the Postbit Control Area wrap the phrase like so:

Centering it in the postbit will be taken into consideration for future versions.

Without edit the phrase can add option for quick color change?How to show Original Poster in near IP?I am just waiting for Branding Free Key But where the Branding Free Key BOX?

Maybe in the next version I can make it a stylevar so it can be different color on different styles.

To move it closer to the IP, maybe change the execution order of the plugin, Template Render to 20, much beyond that their is no control where to place it.

For the branding free box, re-download the product from the DBTech site and re import the XML.

Its does not show Original Poster in near IP, If Thread / Post Bookmarking is Installed,Any fix for this without edit execution order?Option to Usergroup Permission can view Original Poster?Option for Forum Manager?

There is no other way to change the position of the text in the postbit control area.

Why would you want to have usergroup options to select who see's it? Also why only certain forums?

How to change Highlight Background Color?Also mouse hovers not working?

Can Add StyleVars:

Background used in the Original Poster.
Color for the text in the Original Poster.
Background used in the Original Poster when the mouse hovers the button.
Color for the text in the Original Poster when the mouse hovers the button.

Right now it is using the stylevar, highlight_background

What mouseover hover? The text and background is not supposed to change when moused over.

Stylevars will be taken into consideration for future versions.

Where the stylevar highlight_background? Show the text when the mouse hovers the button. (ex: vBsuper PM Send Pm In Postbit)

highlight_background can be found under the group Common but that is for the other display locations. For the postbit control area it is the stylevars,
postbit_control_background and postbit_control_hover_background they are in the group, Postbit.

The text does indeed change color in the postbit control area, if you did not edit the phrase and change the color. The image will not change color cause it is built more like the one for vBDonate, not vBSuper PM's.

If you are saying there is no text that appears when hovering, that is not a bug, I did not add that. I can get it added in the next update.

I'm sure you're busy, but thought I'd let you know!

I can't replicate that error, i am still on php v5.3, so could you test something for me?

Open the file, dbtech/original_poster/hooks/postbit_display_complete.php and find this:

And change it to this:

Then see if you still get the error.

Has anyone tried this on vB 3.8? Will this work?

This mod was designed for vB4 so it's highly unlikely it will work on vB3, sorry :(
