Background Image Help Needed

I am using fix width style on forum and want to add background like vBulletin org (but diff image) can any one tell me how i can do this..

Upload the image to your server then go to the stylevar controlling it and enter the image url it should look something like this...... url(images/misc/vimarcimage.jpg) and then decide if you want a repeat, x-repeat,y-repeat or no repeat, you might to experiment until you get it how you want it.

I tried to do this but image is not properly adjusting as here on this website..

Try different size images, also did you try the repeat options?

I checked your forum. I is just simple background image.. I have diff background image. images has border in right and left side which must be stick around wrapper of fixed width layout. something like vb org

I noticed it is 1024X30, is 1024 your global width or is it just the content width?

Do me a favor, add the image you have to the background temporarily then take a screenshot so i can see how it displays.

You have to alter the background image so that the center portion is the same width as your sites width.

I am guessing the image you are using is a single image!
Try cutting the image into two, Have one for the left and the other for the right. When you change the screen width, the two images will stay in they assigned position and the blank space in the middle will be the only one to change.

Wow ! I'd like to see an example of that. Two background images?

in attachment 2 center position is same as width of website.. (980px)

total size of image is 1350 px ( middle white part is 98xpx)

in stylevar i tried to do this:

repeat
horizontal 1350 px
vertical 2000px

pl suggest the correct way to setup..

Make it .....

horizontal = "center"
vertical = "top"

without the "" of course

Make sure you use the proper code for image path.
Such as ..... url(images/k4gap_dark/misc/bg.jpg)

This is one of my styles I use that code on.
