Hrm, looks like the logo is above the navbar, at least when viewing your site in Chrome. Unless you got this fixed today?

khc196 03-06-2013 09:09 PM

nope i dont use chrome i use ie8 and most of our members do also

K4GAP 03-06-2013 11:45 PM

Are you calling the logo that's on the background your logo?

Is it the background you want centered?

khc196 03-07-2013 12:35 AM

this is our OLD site http://www.clanaod.net/forums/forum.php?styleid=76 thats what we want the new site with the new skin to look like as far as the background logo and then the ClanAOD.net logo on top left above the Nav bar just like that.

So what is the address of the new skin?

khc196 03-07-2013 01:21 AM

51 is the old one sorry got it wrong 76 is the new one

The following link will let you preview the new style work in progress:

The following link will get you back to the normal style:

They are identical ...

khc196 03-07-2013 03:19 AM

not sure why they are the same to you, there not for me maybe you need to refresh

They look exactly the same for me in FF and IE and since I've never been to your site it's not a cache issue on our end ;)

Perhaps they look different when you're logged in vs us being guests?

What good would a refresh do for two different url's ?

ForceHSS 03-07-2013 11:42 AM

Both look the same to me. Maybe a screen shot of the problem you see

khc196 03-07-2013 01:10 PM

Ok since for some reason you cant see them i put them on photobucket

Old AOD Skin http://i342.photobucket.com/albums/o...AOD/OldAOD.jpg
New AOD Skin http://i342.photobucket.com/albums/o...AOD/newAOD.jpg

now you can see the OLD skin and the New one

K4GAP 03-07-2013 06:50 PM

Which one are you using now?

Spangle 03-07-2013 08:26 PM

Looks to me like you've deleted the Navbar somehow, or the call to it in the header template, because the search box is totally missing

Digital Jedi 03-08-2013 12:03 AM

You have quite a bit of invalid HTML in both of your styles. That's why different people are seeing different things depending on the browser they're using and something completely different is showing when logged into your site. Which ever skin you plan on using will need those errors corrected, because that is most likely the root of your style issues.

If you're not sure how to do that, check the article in my profile for validating vBulletin. It might help to get you started.

we are using the OLDAOD one right now, but we intend to use the NEWAOD one as soon as we get the logo right and the background logo working right

Either way, you need to get those errors corrected. That's why your forum is displaying differently across different browsers and why your banner doesn't look right. It'll save you headaches down the road, too.

khc196 03-08-2013 12:02 PM

were looking into the errors but even with them as you can see the AOD Logo and background still works fine with the OLD style, so should work with the New one

Yes you are right but, that logo on the navbar didn't get there by itself. That's not a place the logo can go unless someone manually inserted it there. As for the large logo on the background, it wasn't placed properly even on the old style unless it was intended to be offset which is not likely.

It would be hard to figure out what your problem is without looking at your code and I'm no coder.

You have different errors in both skins, so that wont make a difference, necessarily. For instance, here's how your new skin displays for Guests.

https://www.diigo.com/item/image/dvti/ga5w

And here's that same skin logged in:

https://www.diigo.com/item/image/dvti/56y8

As you can see, there's issues there that could only be HTML errors in the templates. And that would go a long way towards helping you with your navbar.

K4GAP 03-08-2013 05:18 PM

khc196,

Is your Ventrilo Server private? If not could you send me the connection info?

khc196 03-11-2013 05:05 PM

The clanaod.net new skin is now active only and theres not HTML errors but we still would like the logo that says clanaod.net to the left and above the Nav bad, which we would also like to the left and figure out why we can't use backgounds, pretty sure the background problem is because the people that made the skin didnt make the images transparent but they claim it should work.
