Send Email When a Private Message is Received
 
How can i disable this for all users?

You'd have to do it in phpmyadmin (database) then you'd need to edit the modifyoptions template and find this

Could you go into more detail about the database edit?

Admincp/maintenance/execute SQL query this is just a temp fix until member turn it on again do the above to turn it off for good

what's the sql query i have to input so it turns off everyones email thingy :p

First, add your admin userid to the config file.
open ./includes/config.php

around line 129 you will find
PHP Code:
$config['SpecialUsers']['canrunqueries'] = ''; 
add your userid. if its '1' then it will resemble this

$config['SpecialUsers']['canrunqueries'] = '1'; 
save/re-upload the file

Go To
AdminCP->Maintenance->Execute SQL Query->

Select

Yes - Send Notification Email When a Private Message is Received
under All Users

Click "Continue", and then on the next page click "Continue" again to "Confirm Query Execution"

Done.

And so you don't have to keep doing it, set it to do this by default by going to

AdminCP->Settings->Options->User Registration Options->

Check the box in the "Default Registration Options" section that reads

Save. Done.

He wants it off, not to send email

I am having the exact same issue with the email notifications. However, in the
AdminCP->Maintenance->Execute SQL Query->
I get the message that I am not authorized to run sql queries. Will this change allow me to begin to run the queries:

Then either your userid isnt 1 or you failed to over write the previous copy of config.php on the server.

No, you need to enter your user id # not your username.

Thats why they said user ID, not username.
