CMS - How to change forum associated with comments
I know where to change it, but its there any way to be able to select it everytime you post an article/news (in the article creation page)
If i post an article/news about a certain type of car, i want the news to be in that car brand forum, not in the "general" forum. Is there any mod for this? Thanks --------------- Added [DATE]1358178603[/DATE] at [TIME]1358178603[/TIME] --------------- Anybody? |
If you create the article as a thread and then Promote the thread to an article, then you may select to use that thread for comments (several options when you promote it) and then I believe you will have what you want.

Allright, thank you Lynne.
BTW, you are awesome, you help people so much on this forum, keep up the good work! --------------- Added [DATE]1358560413[/DATE] at [TIME]1358560413[/TIME] --------------- Is it normal that when i promote it as an article, it creates a new discussion in the same section it creates a discussion when you create an article from the CMS. |
Not if you set the options correctly. Please read this blog post - https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/entr...ost-as-article I would guess you want Keep Original Thread and All Comments set to Yes.

Those three new options are only available when you promote the thread to an article. Once it is an article, you will not see those options again.
|
Well, that's what i did in a thread, promote to article, and that's what i have as options
|
Are you running the latest version - 4.2.0?
|
No, 4.1.9 for now, is this a new option in the 4.2.0 only?
|
If you look at the blog post, it says it was added in 4.1.11.
|
Good, i upgraded to the latest version and it works now ;) Thank you!
But now, since i was removing my classified forums from the "what's new" and the navbar has been modified, it doesnt work anymore. And i don't want to remove the classified forums from the search. Is there any way to do this? I've used that procedure prior : https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/show...etnew-getdaily) thanks |
You need to use the Navigation Manager for all navbar links now so that is where you would modify the link to search.
