1 Attachment(s)
This adds a Tinychat Room Embeded into a vBulletin page, a Navtab Showing how many are in the Chat, it also displays the users online in the "What's Going On?" section.

This wont work properly with passworded rooms

How to Install
  1. Extract the zip file in your computer
  2. Upload all the files in /upload to your forum directory
  3. import the product XML using add product in admincp
  4. Configure the settings: admincp > Settings > Options > TinyChat System Settings.

Demo(chat tab)

www.infjs.com

Versions:
0.1 - First version
0.2 - Removed some unused phrases
0.3 - Made the username automatically filled in
1.0 - Added Data request cache and Broadcasting count

Does this automatically log them in with the forum username? Would like to see a working demo before an install.

yes and no, the new update fills in their forum username, with guests filled in as "unregistered" which they can change. but for automatic login, as far as i can see that would need full api access, which tinychat have disabled.

Hmm?

bah forgot to turn php error reporting on on my local install, plus i'd somehow managed to accidently delete a large chunk to the product xml file.

Sorry for all the updates, i tested this update on my live site, and also on a default install(now with error reporting on) and everything looks ok.

Thats a real bummer that they have that disabled as that would be fantastic!

deverill2010 01-09-2013 09:44 AM

Is there an admin and do they have any control in the chatroom?

I'm interested in using the chat to hold quizs for members!

step 4

Configure the settings: admincp > Settings > Options > TinyChat System Settings.

you need to set your tinychat room name and the correct url

Experienced a couple of issues when broadcasting a youtube video and closed window mid-broadcast, the youtube/soundcloud share buttons no longer appear.

Is there a way to assign moderators as well who can kick people from the chat?

ayctech 01-10-2013 02:58 AM

Any clue how to get the user counter on the navigation tab working? Just displays a 0 on there regardless of # of users in chat.

adding moderators is done via you're account on the tinychat.com website, any issue with the chat window will be with tinychat as it is just embeded

You need cURL on your server, you can check this via phpinfo under Maintenance in your admincp.

joshskeety 01-25-2013 06:19 PM

What if cURL is enabled and it is still not working?

Thanks,

Josh

Deathjam 01-25-2013 06:29 PM

i wouldn't use the old version, thats why i removed it, its not cacheing the requests to tinychat.

i'm just testing newer better version on my site, i'll probably release that next week when i find some time

joshskeety 01-25-2013 08:40 PM

toibs 02-16-2013 09:58 PM

Shame - Install and i get a page full of HTML (on all pages, not just the chat page).

Had to disable immediately :(

lemme 08-23-2013 10:40 PM

The same thing happened to me ... no problems installing it, follow the steps as I say but to enter the site shows me without your theme, ie in outline mode ... Can you help?

hawk11220 08-24-2013 08:00 PM

Would I be able to implement this into a specific forum, and multiple forums? Would I be able to restrict access to specific groups? Thanks

lemme 08-26-2013 07:12 PM

Could someone please help me!

lemme 08-27-2013 11:51 PM

I wanted to install the TinyChat Mod v1.0 and install all site leaves me unarmed ... without the template and plain text mode. Can you help?
