What is Advanced Censor Options?
Advanced Censor Options is a professional forum administration mod. This will allow administrators to setup censorship options on a per forum level.

As well as giving the option to have usergroups not effected by the censor, you also have the ability to use replacement words instead of *'s.

What does 'Marking As Installed' do ?

* It helps you to stay on top of updates - members who have installed modifications will be notified by us whenever new updates are available.

* For security issues - vbulletin.org will contact all members who have installed a modification whenever a security issue is brought to their attention.

* Marking a modification as installed also helps us know how many people are using our work, giving us extra incentive to provide more features and new modifications.

Major Features
Per Forum Censorship: Administrators can set different censorship options depending on the forum.

Censor Title/Body: Administrators can set if they want to censor the title the post body or both.

General Settings

• Option to toggle plugin on or off.
• Option to hide the version number in the footer.
• Option to censor per forum.
• Option to censor either whole or partial words.
• Option to censor title, post body or both.

how do i set it to not censor any words in just 1 forum as i just cant get it to do anything it censor`s words no matter what i select in the forum permissions for this mod

Hi to all, sorry for the question but how can install it? I'm no experience of it.

If I understand well I have to copy the files that are into the folder upload on my forum and import (as product) the xml.

Is it correct?

yes just upload the files in the upload folder to your server using ftpand just goto admin cp -Plugins & Products - Manage Products then [Add/Import Product]

Do you mean you set a forum to be disabled and it's using the censor options from a different forum to censor that forum? I'm not sure exactly what you are running into, if you could give me an example?

we`ve got a 18+ forum where anything goes and i dont want any words to be censored

Is it not working at all? Make sure while you are setting it up your usergroup is set to not bypass.

Works fine, now my question is how I can do to that allows codes like this? I tried it and it does not work.

what do i put in to censor the words or should i say to replace the word is there some kind of code i need to input

hey dylan in your pictures in description it show very different from what is in 1.0.2 i didnt realize i had to add a colon to do a change word cause it did not tell me that in my acp like in the pictures can we change that pleases ...

also picture 3 in your screen shots in usergroup manager the text field that say bypass all of that is blank for me no text except for yes no option any way we can fix that thanks

I'm not sure what you mean, do you want only admins to be censored?

yes what i have is 4 admins and 3 of us are s/admin via the config file i dont want the reg admin not to see the drop down for this mod would that be possible

Ah, so you want admin permissions on the settings in the ACP. It's not possible right now but I'll add that as a feature request for the next version.

yes dylan that would be great i had thought that most mods from db were s/admin only so the ones that i have as s/admin i only want them to be able to configure this mod while the reg admins cannot

I've installed and used successfully, after some time I do not want to use again, I have removed it, but it still works.

Did you disable or uninstall the mod? It doesn't change the data in the database, it only changes the display so not sure why it would still be working.

I have a sub-forum where I want my users to freely rant with vulgarity and cussing without it being censored.

Is this the right app/mod for me?

You can specify the forums the censor works on and what words are censored on what forum.

Yes, once I get into vB5 I'll probably convert it over fairly early since it's not a huge mod. I'm just waiting for vB5 to stabilize a bit before I dig into it :)

Dylan - is it possible to make a change to this mod, to replace one word, with multiple words with spaces in them? perhaps if you put quotes around the phrase?

As an example, I'd like to replace the word "jeep" with "herp derp jerp" on one of my forums.

Also, Dylan, the replace in Thread Titles AND Posts, doesn't seem to work for Thread Titles. It simply removes the original word, does NOT actually put the replaced text! I'm on vB 4.2.2 PL1

For instance, going with the above example, if I create a thread named:
Pictures of my Jeep
It should be displaying as "Pictures of my HerpaDerpaJerpa"
however, it simply removes jeep and displays "Pictures of my".

I've tried rebuilding post cache, etc, doesn't seem to help.

And one more request. It seems that unlike the built in censorship options, that this doesn't support censoring words in Signatures. Can we can an option to apply the censor to signatures? Thanks.
