Social Connect - 35 Social Network Icons to Display
 

Description:
This modification allows you to add icons for Social Networking sites that your site has a presence on. Included in this modification are 35 Social Network icons for you to choose from and display provided by ElegantThemes.

Installation:

1. Download the zip file and upload it to your core/packages/ directory.
2. Configure settings at: Admin CP -> Settings -> Options -> Social Connect Settings.
3. Done.

If Auto Install doesn't work, upload all the files and import the XML found in the xml directory in the zip file.

Not a bad job on compressing the images either, was only able to shave off 4 KB total using pnggauntlet.

Shadow - did as outlined above but can't seem to open the .zip file, receiving a warning:

Tried to unpackage .zip to upload individual files - but I am clearly doing something wrong here.

Could you give me some pointers on what I need to do to get your mod installed please?

I uploaded folder to core, saw the options, enabled social icons added the Twitter icon to show. Nothing shows. v5.0.2

Nvm. It worked but ruins responsive design on mobile devices.

I very much like this! However I would like the ability to add custom fields and hover over text for those fields (So I can add a proper steam link for example rather then having to replace a random icon with a steam one). I'd also like the ability to rearrange the icon order. Other than that this mod is great!

Please fix the size of the button on mobile devices. On iPhone with Safari it's very small.

One question: we have a large forum banner that covers the social media icons. How can I move them under the search?

You do some cool mods! I love this... Is there a way to put (move down) the location of the social icons AND search bar into the header tab bar? That would be perfect and really streamline the appearance of the page. Thanks!

I need something like this for vB 4.2

i am new at VB5 so i was able to use xml import to install the mod but i am unsure where to upload the api and images files. I uploaded the images to the defualt image directory and they dont display. Am i missing something on how to install your mod or mods in general?

Yeah vb5 here, installed and turned on a few of em, images missing aka shows just a blank box for each icon w the symbol for picture... :[

I fixed my issue, unitedgaming this may be your issue as well, make sure that you don't have 2 folders named socialconnect inside the core/packages folder. Basically you may accidentally have /core/packages/socialconnect/socialconnect/ (the files), it needs to be /core/packages/socialconnect/ (the files). this fixed it for me :) great mod, thank you

I manually updated the api/options.php file to get it to work with 5.1.4 and it seems to be working ok... The icons display above the search bar instead of to-the-left-of for me (though that's fine, and might be because of other header/css customizations i have in place)... I made a slight tweak to product_socialconnect.xml as well to adjust the padding-left to 10px on the div so that it properly aligned above the search bar...

All in all a nice add-on though, and really something that should be part of core by now.

It works.

Good stuff but not exactly what I am looking for just yet. The future maybe?
What I wanted was a simple sharing option where people can share a post or an article they see.
Same kind of thing - I thought but it would take the post or create a link and then send it to the users chosen social media account.
