Issues Between Vbulletin and Chrome
I've been receiving complaints for months regarding issues related to the forum.....mostly slow loads, hanging script calls or commonly users are unable to post long threads.
It appears that nearly every poster having issues is using Google Chrome. I searched around the internet and noticed this is a widespread problem, Chrome and Vbulletin. Is there any kind of patch to fix this? Has this problem been addressed? |
Chrome has some known vB issues, but I've never heard of this one.
What you're describing sounds a lot more like a server-side issue -- slow PHP, unoptimized code, etc. This is common at the big oversold hosts like Dreamhost, Godaddy, HostGator, Bluehost, etc. Who's your host? |
I use Chrome as my main browser and have no issues with vbulletin sites, so I'm not sure what you are talking about.
|
I have hostgator and none of my members or I have problems like this.
|
I'm having the same problem with Chrome and my vB4.1.10 site.
Any news about it? |

the test doesn't work correctly on my forum. See attached picture.

Chrome isn't anything mysterious, it is Safari, Apple's browser. If your board has no problems for Safari users, there shouldn't be any problems with Chrome either.

Hello Lynne
Thanks for answering... we try this, we did fresh install of other browsers and still we have this issue. More than that is not happening in all computers some of the computers are fine. We thought that the version of the browsers are different but they are the same. I my computer with Win 7 64 bit I have the forum running correctly in IE and Chrome but not in Firefox; my colleagues with computers with same configuration they can see it in none of the browsers. Thank you for any thoughts. |

--------------- Added [DATE]1377727267[/DATE] at [TIME]1377727267[/TIME] --------------- Maybe someone or something messed up the master style. Try uploading the tools.php file to your admincp directory and running it from your browser. Run the options to import the style. This will rebuild your style structure which might fix your problem. The tools.php file is in the [i]do_not_upload[/] folder in the vBulletin zip file. Then remove tools.php from the admincp directory. |
Here's the Meehan test, this one using IE 10. Same issues. Details might help you track this issue. You can repeat the test however many times you want with all different browsers, locations and connections.

Try going to AdminCP > Settings > Options > Style & Language Settings > Store CSS in Filesystem and change the setting > Save. Then see if the site works. Then try changing it back and see if it works.
