What Makes This Player Different?

The New look is not that different, but as you can see above the picture is now stretched to fit the Player Size. This is good for smaller width videos. Still the same for HD. And finally we can use different Skins! Credits Lawrence for his/her player Skin. Plus a Plug-In for the MP3 Player to. As seen DEMO.

After messing around for a few weeks, i "HOPE" i have finally finished with what i was aiming to accomplish for my Forum. That was a new Media Player look and an MP3 Player, i must say, its not that good, but...to me its by far better than the plain old look of the JW Player.

I really wanted more, but JW really has its limits. I wanted to make a .png 3D animations as a background image in the MP3 player, but JW just had a few Restrictions that i couldn't get past, not allowing animated background images. I settled for an Equalizer Effect Plug-In which i added to MP3 Player, credits to wesley luyten for JW add-on. You will need to see DEMO for Effects. Anyway, this is what i have came up with that works fine on my boards using FF+IE. NOT Tested with any other browsers. But i "SO" hope these Players work for anyone that wants to use them.

PSD+Font Files have been added to ZIP's. Open with Photoshop and customize to your own likings.

How to replace JW Watermark with mine?
You will need a Buy JW Pro and talk with longtailvideo.com on how to do this. This Mod is for JW Free.

Plays Mp3, M4A, thats it.

Updated 6/09/2014 New HTML5 Video Player and HTML5 MP3 Player with Flash Fallback. (mediaelement-player.zip)

I have done many tests on this HTML5 Player. It seems to be a really good Video and Audio Player.
Does work great in FF, Chrome, IE, iPhone. Slight issue with IE when Pausing the Screen but that's it.
Not tested with iPad because i do not have one. But the Flash Fall Back is great for both Video and Audio.

hi mate,

did you download the m4aplayer.zip or the mp3player.zip?

im sorry, i need to clean up this thread as its very messy and confusing.

the m4aplayer.zip should play very well in all common browsers.

in the coming days i'll upload a live vbulletin 3.8.9 test site for continue testing and add working links.

Yep I done the m4a and think its a lot nicer then the m3 was... Not messed with 3.8.9 yet as this 3.8.8 full install has been a royal pain working the bugs out..

yeah i need to remove the mp3 zip, i think its to old school for modern browsers, and kinda looks outdated.

I have uploaded crossdomain.xml to the root and also to vb folder but still receiving the same error message!

I have also uploaded the mp4player folder to my vb directory and created the bb code as in the installation instructions in the included txt file.

Hmm, i thought mp4player was uploaded to root. Let me check.

EDIT: I have re-uploaded mp4player.
Its a little less confusing.
Can confirm the player works using another domain other than your own using crossdomain.xml.

Thanks ShawneyJ, I'll try mediaelement instead of mp4player which is still not working with me in spite of the different tweaks in crossdomain permissions!

BTW, what is the difference between mp4player and mediaelement if both of them can do the same work?

mediaelement supports mobile phones, android. its HTML5 with flash fallback.
where mp4player only works with flash. example: just desktop computers.

Shawney, I got the MP4 player working but could not get the mediaelement one to work.

I get a No video supported format and MIME type found in the Media Element one.

The MP4 will suffice for me for now, however is there a way for it to show a thumbnail like youtube does and the controls before you click on the player? It is just a black screen when the page loads. It works when you click the player just fine.

Maybe I do not have something installed correctly?

Yes loaded up and saved the code in the templates, footer and headinclude. did not see the note for the Mobil so I just went and did them, still the same.

I noticed in the replacement code there is no where to put in the domain like in the other codes. You had yoursite.com to replace in the MP4. This one does not require that?

Ok, here is what I found.

I am getting that message (No video supported format and MIME type found) in the BB code manager. I tried it in a post and the video shows up and plays. Same example in BB code manager as in the post. (copied and pasted from BB code manager and it plays in post) I was assuming that if it did not play in the BB manager it would not play in the post.

Is it supposed to do that?

Yes, the player will not play in admin area because there is no code to boot the player up. Those edits to the templates boots up the player. Admin area will not work. Sorry, I should of mentioned this. I'll be doing an upgrade soon and fix up the messy OP. So all is good now?
