That's a great Mod! Been searching for something like this for a while.
two bugs? i found 1. that X-Button - in the bar telling you don't have any favourites set yet - is not working, the bar will not disappear unless i put something in the favs. 2. Tabs within a category don't show up, i have to set them as a global tab to appear. and some request for future versions. is it possible that each user can set a default active tab wihtin the user control panel? and is it possible to have global tabs only without a category set? i only have one category active to show the global tabs. Thanks! PS: sorry for my english |

Will look into the two bugs, I've an idea what's causing them. The Pro version does allow for setting a per user default tab in their control panel. The second idea of having Global Tabs only without a category set I'm not sure of exactly what you mean. The Pro version does allow you to hide the Category Tabs and it will run effectively off the first Category Tab and what AJAX Tabs are assigned to it and the Global Tabs as well. Is that you are wanting? |
Hi everyone,
Thanks to a number of bug reports we've worked out some of the issues to do with DragonByte Forum Tabs (DFT) and so we are releasing version 1.0.3 which contains those fixes and a number of other issues we came across (for both the Pro and Lite versions). It also adds a method to prevent the main Category Tab and AJAX Tab from being deactivated which caused a number of errors. The full Changelog is here: Feature: Unable to deactivate either the 'Forum' Category Tab or the 'All' AJAX Tab. Fixed: Template that wasn't cached. Fixed: Unstickied Category Tab showing next to the 'More' Tab when the Selected Category. Fixed: Non-Global Tabs not showing up under their parent Category Tab. Fixed: No Favourites and No Default Tab notices not dismissing correctly. Fixed: Issue where on all Category Tabs and AJAX Tabs being deactivated would cause a PHP error. Fixed: Cookie setting error. Fixed: A conditional that conflicts with the fix for non-Global Tabs above. Thanks as always to everyone for their feedback and suggestions. |
Thanks for the fixes!
the Pro Version does everything i suggested, i did'nt realized there was a pro version. i'm getting the pro version :) |

How do I assign forums to tabs ?
Ignore that, sussed it out... |

https://www.dragonbyte-tech.com/docs/forumtabs The manual is written with the Pro version in mind, but many of the principles apply to the Lite version as well. Let us know if you have any more questions. :) |
Was after playing around on the VB5 demo that i remembered about this..

Kann jemand helfen? |
Just posting from my personal account here, but in checking the download just now it has the class_install.php file in the correct place. Try verifying the files have been placed in the correct locations and redownload from here if there is a missing file perhaps due to a corrupt download.

Tonight's release of DragonByte Forum Tabs to v1.0.4 fixes a number of minor issues as well as adding a couple of mini features to further enhance #DFT . The main new features is that now Notices can be added to display in a Category Tab, thereby showing it across every AJAX Tab in that Category. Full fix list is as follows:
Feature: Can set in the Admin Control Panel the default setting for 'Add Forum Automatically to User's Favourites' on adding new forums. Feature: Can set notices to appear when viewing a category. Fixed: Stuck on tab when viewing forum in a mobile style. Fixed: Several issues with notices displaying incorrectly. Thanks as always to everyone for their feedback and suggestions, I'll be looking at incorporating them in the coming weeks. |
Released a bug fix (v1.0.5) for DragonByte Forum Tabs (#DFT) to fix an issue with Favourites in some MySQL setups.
Fixed: A bug where in some instances the Favourites threw out a database error. |
I've uploaded the files again as there was an error in the package uploaded. Please redownload if you downloaded v1.0.5 before this message.

Hello. I've downloaded and installed the mod and adjusted the settings to make tabs appear, but they are nowhere to be found on my forum. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Have version 4.0.8.
Definitely have tabs and categories created. What could be wrong? |
I have a dark themed, forum, trying to figure out where I need to make CSS edits. Any idea where I can look?
NVM I found it using the style varible editor. |

AJAX Tabs need to have a parent Category Tab, and both need to be marked as active. If you want to create an account for me to look at the settings in the ACP, please PM me the website location, along with a username and password and I'll take a look. :) Matt |
G'day mate,
I install this mod and once I got my head around the admin side of things - brilliant job! One issue however; we use a wiki mod called VaultWiki. The 'Wiki' forums will not appear in the tab I put them in :( Any thought? Am happy to give you access etc to play... |
Quote:
I use VaultWiki as well and haven't had any issues in the normal forum display showing up. Which version are you currently using and is it Lite or Pro? If you want to send me an Admin account to access the details via PM, then I'll take a look and see if there's anything unusual. Matt |
Its pro.
Login details on their way :) |
Thanks lurch. Will have a look now and see what's what. :)

Firstly - HUGE thanks to Matt for looking into the bug with VaultWiki and giving me a work around.
This is a fantastic mod, highly recommended. |

Is it possible to change the location of the tabs to be higher up, as indicated in the attached image.
|
Maybe. It would mean either relocating the template variable:
Code:
{vb:raw template_hook.forumhome_above_forums} I've not had chance to try this myself, but I suspect option two is the better one to try, and I'd test it on a test setup first. Let me know if it solves your problem. Matt |
Quote:
neither of the above affected position, moving the hook just moved them all in same order, I didnt want to mess too much, as i dont have a test site I just tested it on an unused style. would probably be better using a different hook or the option to place in different areas. |
Thanks for trying it out.
The only other option that might work (depending on how the other mods use the same hook) is to change a section of the /dbtech/forumtabs/hooks/process_templates_complete.php file. Find this line: PHP Code:
PHP Code:
I wish I could suggest using another hook, but the problem is that there is no other hook fitting where you want, as all three mods use the same hook code. I hope that makes sense. Let me know how you get on. Matt |

Result thats much better, we have a few who have small screen laptops and this way the tabs are accessible without scrolling down. Big Thanks for the help. |
Glad that's helped. Belazor at DBTech suggested making the execution order of the plugin I mentioned previously as 65535 which might improve the results even more.
Thanks for letting me know how it worked. :) Matt |
How do I change the spelling of what I have underlined in red. I'd like to change the spelling to "Favorites", what file and line do I need to edit?
I have already edited the Tab name in Admin CP http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/5203/favouritesn.png |
