Setting up Facebook on vB4
Hello, on my site I have gone in and set up the Facebook Connect button, so it is displayed at the top of the page, but it doesn't seem to link to anything or work.
I have put in the Facebook Application ID, along with the Facebook Secrete Code. What other steps are their to take to make this feature work or what am I missing. Thank you for any replies. www.mypokerhub.com |
Create a new style with no parent:

Yes, same problem. Just a Facebook button that does nothing. I switched off the other style I was using, and have just this new style that you said to create. Same problem. Any other ideas? I appreciate your time.

Can we get a screenshot of what you set up in the developers.facebook.com/apps area?

There you go!

I need to see what you have on the developers.facebook.com/apps app that you created.

Ok sorry here it is I think

That is not for Facebook Connect - the site URL is not mypokerhub.com in that screenshot. That looks like it is for your Facebook App. If you are using a different domain for your Facebook App than you have for your site, then you need to have another app just for Facebook Connect (and there is a spot in the facebook members area where you create your Facebook App for you to enter the Facebook Connect number).

Ok can you please either give me a link to follow step by step on how to set the connect button at the top of my site up, or can you explain it step by step here? I thought I went through the steps but it did not work. Thank you!
|
It's in the manual - https://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/facebook_enable
|
I did everything in that manual step for step, and when I go to www.mypokerhub.com, the icon for FB Connect still does not work. Any suggestions or ideas on what's wrong? Thanks
|
You entered http://mypokerhub.com/ as the url on your facebook connect app page. It works fine on that url.
|
Ok got it, weird thought I did all of this before! Thank you again Lynne! Your a huge help and your doing an awesome job helping people!

You may want to add some .htaccess to your site to do a redirect from on to the other so you don't need to worry about issues like that.

Would you recommend any threads or links that would allow me to only allow facebook users to join my bulletin? basically that would be the only way to join the group.. Thanks |
I cannot think of any threads about doing that, so I can't really recommend one. You'd probably have to modify the registration code in some way.
