AI Guest Limiter
 

This is a simple little mod I made, I wanted guests to be able to view everything yet limit how much of everything they view. This will only limit the first post, I may add more later to limit others as well.

This will allow you to specify in each forum how many characters they may view. This will allow you to open up your forums and perhaps spark an interest in your visitors.


Update 1.2:
I have added the option the limit the reply posts as well , you can now set the first post to show one ammount of characters while allowing the replys to show another :)

Its for only first post ? You can add option for Guest Limiter for all post ?

For now it is only the first post, I can add for all later.

I should have this updated tomorrow to be able to limit the rest of the posts as well, but it will have two options , one for the first post and one for the reply posts.

Needs a global setting in options not each forum takes way to long to set each one

I did the option in each forum due to each forum may be beneficial to all them to view all or only part of the posts.

I and am sure others have a large forum it would take me a very long time to set each one. A option to allow guests to check out the first few posts then this message comes up would be better making sure you leave all bots out of that

It is something I can think of for the future, currently I am working on an in depth feature for my community. But if this gets enough of a following I may put some different work into it.

I just know for my community I would like guest to view all of some forums, and very little of others.

how does this go with a quote box first up? without looking at it, Im guessing there might be a few issues eg. styling, handling the text count in the box etc.

I have yet to try it with quotes to be honest, as my community consists of only myself for now. But with only 9 installs no one has posted any negative issues or concerns.

I will how ever look into it before the weekend.
