A nice concept.

Seemed like a nice product idea, but we need options only available in paid version...

So, we tried to navigate the web site to find the cost and how to purchase the "Ultimate Version" ... :erm:

What a kluge ... :(

Start with a spell checker and end with having someone vet your site for design and coherency. :D

Finally ended up at the download link, which wants me to be a VIP to read about it. Is the cost really $59/3 months minimum just to buy this product? :eek:

Does the "Ultimate Version" include the ability to set just specific forums to use the add-on?

yea I agree. This is a simple mod and there is also a free version "who has read a thread" would of deff used this if free. Sometime paying for a product is worth it, however this one is not. sorry! :(

Also this is different than "who has read a thread" this is more like "who has read a post" Also this is just a mod that is part of our suite of products that come as part of vip. I can't go further into discussion on vb.org though, feel free to discuss it over at vbsocial

How would anyone know who read a post? Do they have to click something? If they don't have to click something to say they read the post then this is useless and does the exact same thing as 'who read a thread'. I am responding to your inital post but haven't bothered reading the other posts. Would those be marked as read even though I didn't waste my time reading them?

So basically, if your a commenter in the thread, and you view the page of the thread, it shows as you viewed that post to the poster/or thread owner.

So basically it does nothing more than who read a thread except it requires you to post. It is 100% inaccurate as to depicting who actually read a post. Like I said, I skipped every post in this thread and made my post before I went back to see what others had to say. Without someone actually clicking something to say they read a post, there is no way to determine if they did or not. This feature is useless and nothing more than bloated code doing nothing, yet you charge for it?

I have some threads on my site with 40+ pages of discussion. We are constantly telling people to read previous posts because they make comments without doing so. according to your mod they will be listed as having read the posts. This is useless and a waste of peoples time!

as everybody was unhappy with the logic of this product, i opened it to see why...

1- the main function of this crap is to apply a copyright notice that we're suppsed to be "Proud of..."
2- there is a main query in each apge you load to edit the table and add an index to the table this product add...HEY, your ALTER TABLE is a proof that you know nothing about coding and performances.
3- in whole, this product add a minimum of 27 queries to each page you show in a thread! (if you show 25 posts per page)
4- if you have more than 10 names in the list of viewers of a post, there is a moronish comment shown instead of the list when you're an admin... come on, baby stuff here... be serious when you code something available on the free side of things, you already poison the place with your footer.

Have you gotten around to making it a link or something so that this actually does what it says it will do?

Who has read a mod shows all the thread readers 1 time. You can view the thread on the first day it comes out and it will always show up.

You can view the 1st post by Dave, and then not see the 3rd post by dave. The 3rd post by dave will not have your name that says you have read it. Make sense.

It shows who has read a post progressively throughout the thread. You viewing the thread, does not mean you have read every post. It only lists the posts you have read.

There is NO WAY for you to know which posts I have read in a thread unless I click something stating I read it! I could read the first post on a page and go right to posting. Your mod would have me listed as reading each post which is utter BS. You are blowing smoke up newbies asses here with this mod. It is bloat code and can't do what it says accurately no matter how you try to spin it. Unless someone clicks a link SAYING they read a post, you could NEVER know which ones they read. It is one thing to create a mod that maybe some could use but this mod here is 100% USELESS BLOAT CODE!

This mod is being used to promote you other mods and is listed as a 'feature" so that you can turn a buck. This single mod has allowed me to see what type of person you are. You KNOW this can't depict what posts I have read and you are still trying to promote that it can. It's worth noting that if you will blow smoke up peoples ass here i wonder what kind of show you are putting on for those who actually fell for it and paid. SMH

If you don't like the way the mod works, then don't install it. Simple as that.

I don't have it installed Lynne. My posts were just to make those less aware that this mod cannot depict who actually read a thread like it claims. New members who don't know how this all works may be quick to install this thinking it actually knows which members read the posts when that is not possible with how this works. The OP's other mods are pretty good and do what they say. This one physically can't do what it says because there is no way to determine who is reading and skipping posts.
