Inactive User Demotion
THIS ADD-ON IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE AND IS NOT SUPPORTED
This is an add-on that was designed with vBulletin 4.2.0. It may not work on earlier versions of vBulletin, but it should with any vB 4.x versions. Demotes users based on an inactivity time you set. This was created because it is impossible to automatically demote users using the vBulletin promotion system without editing the main vBulletin code. This issue has been reported here: http://tracker.vbulletin.com/browse/VBIV-12929 Features:
* INSTALLATION * ----------------------- 1) Upload the contents of the 'upload' folder to your forum's root. (If your forum's location is http://www.example.com/forums/, the root is /forums/) 2) Import the product XML file (product-userdemote.xml) into the Product Manager in AdminCP. 3) Go to ACP->Settings->Options->Inactive User Demotions Settings. Turn on the system and set the options as needed. * History (Changelog) * ------------------------------ 1.0.0 - (July 4, 2012) Initial Release |
Installed for testing. Thanks

@nhawk
I found this mod very useful on my site. :) Do you have plans to add any features? It would be nice if members were notified by email of demotion or at least the admin sent a list of who is demoted each day. Regards |
I'd Install this If a notification was sent

But I will put it on the wish list (which I actually do have for my mods). |

Say if you were running a server or something. Would you be able to link this plugin to the server as well?

This add-on has nothing to do with server level operations. |

Option Inactive User Demotion for Zero-Posters. |
what happens when the user is no longer inactive? Like if they come back to the forum, are they automatically put back where they were before they got demoted? Or are they demoted forever with your mod?

This is a good mod but its missing one important element unless I have missed it.
You don't have a demote from usergroup. It wuld be handy to be able to select which usergroup is being demoted in the case of free users etc that stop posting. It looks like your mod might demoted paid users as well which would be a problem. |
There are other mods that can do this (and allow you to exclude usergroups from being checked).
|
Thanks Paul, a bit of searching I see you have just the right one. Thanks.
|
I installed it, but doesn't seem to do anything, i'm I missing something, I set the user group , and the days and turned it on, is there something else??? Is does not demote old users .

What version of vB are you running? Did you select the proper demotion type (primary or additional)? Did you let it run for at least 1 hour? Demotions are done by scheduled task and if you don't have enough visits to your site, it could take longer. |
4.2 CMS, and Yes I did It does nothing for me so far, its been in for a few days, I set it to primary and a few days I checked and tried the other, nothing.
|
I have a very active site, so it shouldn't be that.
|
Are you sure you have users that are inactive for the number of days set?
Did you upload the files that are included with the mod to your server? Have you tried running the task manually to see if any errors come up? Beyond that, I'd have to have access to your ACP and FTP to check what's going on. If you want me to look at it, send the the info needed by PM. |
