moderation queue notification
1 Attachment(s)
Is there any mod that displays anything in moderation queue to show up in the notification drop down menu? Including threads, posts, attachments, etc.
|
Try this: FractalizeR: Show items, awaiting moderation in notifications area
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...l+notification Now if only someone can adapt this - to also send an email to the moderators when something is waiting in the queue :) |

Ok guys i've just knocked something up, it isn't tested so dont shoot me :) i've added email sending (i hope) to fractilizers mod so when the count of any of the items is greater than zero an email is sent out to the usergoupid's in the box in vbulletin options - give it a try if you dare :)
EDIT: it's his vb3 version so i dont know if it will work on vb4 EDIT 2: Removed for now as there's a code problem |

Ok re-added the product, no code faults but still not tested! :)
EDIT: New product uploaded with typos fixed, import with overwrite |
Thanks, let me test it.
--------------- Added [DATE]1352849066[/DATE] at [TIME]1352849066[/TIME] --------------- Ok, I'm uncertain about these two options: Send Email to moderators? Select Yes to send emails to selected usergroups above. and Usergroups to email If I check the Administrator box at the top under Usergroups to which to show notifications and YES to Send Email to moderators? do I need to enter usergroupid's to email?? |
My mistake, it should read email below usergroups Yes No then enter usergroupid's, im off to bed now i'll fix the typos tomorrow but let me know how it goes :)
--------------- Added [DATE]1352849683[/DATE] at [TIME]1352849683[/TIME] --------------- Fixed typos and changed the product above :) |

hi Simon,
Ok, I see I have 1 Post for Moderation in the log in corner of the forum. But no email. What should the email look like? What will the header be? I have the settings correct, right? Admin is usergroup 6. thanks! PMax PS: I set my test user to usergroup that needs moderation, made a few more posts but still no email. :) |
Ok i'll look further maybe later today.
|
Thanks, Simon. I remember you from several other posts, you do great work.

Hmmm, i've not changed anything but spotted a typo, same applies, not tested but should do the job
|
hi Simon,
I have tested it again, and the notifications show up above the log in, but no email. |
Ok, ill look at it tomorrow properly and test it as i have an hour or two spare tomorrow.
|
Also interested in an email solution! Thank you for doing this. :)
|
cool - just noticed this update by Simon Lloyd to add an email notification to FractalizeR
see post #5 in this thread https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....95&postcount=5 and an update in post#11 https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....1&postcount=11 has anyone else tried this with vB4? |
I completely forgot about this, i'll take a look later today if time allows :)

Well I tried using Simon's mod of Fractilizer on a new vB3 and a new Vb4 test forum
- used latest versions of vBulletin with only this mod installed - for the VB4 version I cut and pasted Simon's mod changes from his vB3 version into the FractilizeR 4 version myself - so didn't really expect it to work. Initially I was setting the new Email options wrong by using the Usergroup "Names" vs Usergroup "IDs" this caused an immediate MySQL error when loading forum homepage After setting the Email option to use Usergroup Ids it did quit displaying the MySQL error but unfortunately no email was ever sent when new Notifications were present in either the vB3 or vB4 test forums. I sure hope Simon can find some time again to work on this :) more info: Also tried changing the forum email option to use SMTP server - both with and without the "-f" option Same results as before - Notification Popups work like the normal FractilizeR Mod but no email sent - Sendmail log shows no errors Test emails sent from vB3 and vB4 to users work fine so I know the basic email feature works Here is some setup info if it helps Simon :) OS = CentOS 5.9 with latest updates PHP version 5.3.3 MySql 5.0.95 Vbulletin - both test sites are Forum Only suites VB4.20 patch level 3 VB3.87 patch level 3 |
Admittedly i haven't had much time to revisit this, your server environment is of no consequence, it's just i've got something wrong in the code somewhere :)

Mainly I was wondering if the PHP 5.3.3 was deal breaker but I guess not. (I needed to update it from the default Centos PHP 5.2.x in order to install the latest phpMyAdmin) |
Hi guys,
I know some of these posts are old now but the requirement for moderation queue notifications is still there. As such I have just released my own MOD that takes care of this for us. It also has support for a desktop app or any other app you may want to develop that can read in .xml files. Link: vBMQN - Moderation Queue Notifications + Desktop App .Me |

His vBMQN Mod to send email notices of Moderation Queue does just what has been needed by vB3 and vB4 for a long time. https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=294999 |
