Algo - Allow users to self delete their account

1 Attachment(s)
Hello,

Algo Users Self Delete mod allow.... users to self delete their account. Look at screenshot for more information.
This include :
-Option to disable the mod
-Option to delete all user's posts (or not), when he self delete his account (posts are hard deleted)
-Option to protect usergroups from the self delete
-Option to set the new owner of a socialgroup, if the member is the owner of a socialgroup.

This deleting code is from admincp/user.php and use datamananager.

Enjoy, and sorry for my bad english ;)

Thanks but it's something I'd never use.
I often get users asking for me to delete their account, I tell them not to log in again and that's it.
Not sure why an Admin would want users to be able to self delete their account myself

Altari 05-10-2012 02:44 PM

Yeah, that's depend of your community.
Mine is ..... nervous, so i needed this mod and i share it with the community.
Moreover, i don't know in your country but in France, legislation says that the user must have a way to cancel his subscription. That can be annoying if administrators are not everydays on the board.

Does this hard or soft delete?

Altari 05-10-2012 04:28 PM

Vbulletin offer us only one way to delete users, so this mod delete users as the admincp does : user is deleted, but his posts are tagged with his username.
And about the option which delete posts when a user delete his account, this is hard delete.

Is there an update for 4.1.12 PL1?

AusPhotography 05-11-2012 12:44 AM

FYI This is likely to be a core feature in 4.2 (per published Jira item http://tracker.vbulletin.com/browse/VBIV-7103 )

Altari 05-11-2012 05:58 AM

This mod works nice with 4.1.12 PL1

New Joe 05-11-2012 06:45 AM

I found this same kind modification has more options and I've tested it on 4.1.12 and it works fine

Not logging in is a good way to cancel your subscription.

I don't know in U.S., but in France users must (cause of the law) have a way to physically delete their account. They could ask me, but that's boring ;). Sure if i had choice, i prefer to just let them to be "inactive"

Very very useful! I was tired to deleted accounts, because in Spain the law force to delete account if the user ask it.

I have translated it to spanish.

Tagged, and will be installed if my mods finds it a good idea :)

Can there be an option, that the mods get an topic or e-mail of an deleted account? So we can watch who uses this and how many times it is used? Or is that not an option?

byld 11-24-2013 01:30 PM

I just tested this on 4.2.2 and it works excellently!

I created a new user, logged in and self deleted the account.

I then checked acp and searched for the user and found the account was hard deleted but the posts stayed until I hard deleted them myself.

Very happy with this mod - Kudos to Algo
