[DBTech] vBEditorTabs v1 (vB4)

1 Attachment(s)
vBEditorTabs: What is it?
vBEditorTabs is an editor add-on, allowing administrators and users the ability to create custom tabs below the editor for categorizing smilies, with the potential to add further content in future releases. The tabs integrate smoothly with vBulletin's editor, are powered via jQuery, and there is no limit to the number of tabs you can have, as they wrap under each other and still function normally.

vBEditorTabs is currently only compatible with vB4.1.4 and higher (CKEditor).

How many smilies can be in one tab?
How to have default one open tab?

DragonByte Tech 05-05-2012 10:21 PM

You can have as many smilies as you want in a single tab. You can have all of your smilies in a single tab, if you want.

As far as your second question, are you asking how to have a specific tab open when it first loads? Currently, you can only have the first tab open as default. To do that, in the "Tab Animation Options" settings, set ANIMATE TABS to YES, set MAKE TABS COLLAPSABLE to YES, and set COLLAPSED BY DEFAULT to NO.

Remember to mark as installed if you install it. Thanks!

Version 1.1.0 adds the ability to have BBCodes in tabs, so no more having to hack into CKEditor to have them show up. Hopefully this will give admins a little more options and flexibility. Thanks!

Awesome mod,thanks Brad.

Justinphx 06-03-2012 06:15 AM

Nice addition with the BBCodes. Upgraded and thanks once again.

Update: All seemed to be working fine but when I go to check private messages I get this error below. I reinstalled again and received the same message. It happens when I click on "check inbox". Went back to the first version and working fine again.

Thanks - running V 4.1.12 p2

In the ACP, Plugin Manager, disable the plugin for "User CP: Editor Tabs Settings" under the vBEditorTabs product. Somehow that got included in the product XML file and shouldn't have. I'll have the zip file updated in a minute...

DragonByte Tech 06-03-2012 03:28 PM

Ok, product file should now be correct. Sorry about that!

vBEditorTabs v1.1.1
Fix: The vBEditorTabs UserCP area would fail to load certain phrases for built-in vBulletin actions
Change: Changed the Branding display method to inject itself into the copyright footer (underneath vBulletin copyright) instead of the page footer.
Change: Changed the Branding Free Key to a more secure key.

Installed and working.
But one thing tho.....the bitfield_dbtech_vbeditortabs_pro.xml is included in the XML folder,
Is this normal to have the favorite tab option in the usergroup settings?...i thought this was only available in the pro version!
Also if i enable this option it gives me a database error.

Just a heads up, since you posted this on our site as well, the issue will be handled on there.

Update

Hotfix: PHP 5.4 Compatibility fixes

This does not guarantee the mod is error free on PHP 5.4, but it will take care of the reported errors. Thank you all for your reports :)

Anyone have this running on vb4.2.2?

Before upgrade it worked perfectly on one site but now after 4.2.2 there are a couple of problems with it now.

When someone posts larger than default text and then inserts a smilie the font size shows - see attachment:

Also when you go to configure tab and try to move a smilie into any tab you cant seem to grab them at all.

kylek 11-26-2013 10:49 PM

Still have same problems with this.

kylek 12-12-2013 06:27 PM

Still cant select any smilies to sort to different tabs.

I'm having this same problem. Did you ever get an answer? I also posted it on their site last night but they haven't addressed it yet. It seems that if a user chooses ANY font other than the default it causes this to happen.

DragonByte Tech 02-22-2015 08:42 PM

A fix for this will be released @ our site tomorrow, the issue has been identified and corrected :)

Fix worked. Thanks.

Hi, I have the lite version and it is great, thanks so much :) !!! About 4 smileys out of many hundreds refuse to show up in the editor, but load fine on the site, is there a way I can fix this? It is a minor issue though, as everything looks so much more organized. Awesome work :)

vBEditorTabs v1.1.1 Patch Level 1

Bug Fixes:
  • Resolved an issue where the WYSIWYG editor would also insert a <font> tag when a smiley was clicked

Have you made sure the path is using the full URL instead of a relative URL in the Smilie Manager? That could be a reason.
