[DBTech] Threadmins and Group Moderators v2 (vB4)
1 Attachment(s)
Threadmins and Group Moderators is a moderation enhancement for single users (who can receive permissions to modify their own threads, or single threads and social group discussions) as well as allow for usergroups to be set as 'group moderators' and allow the users in such usergroups the same moderator permissions.
Uses Threadmins and Group Moderators is a self moderation system that allows threads to be moderated by the user that created them. Users can be given permissions to edit, delete, sticky, open/close or be immune to such actions. Also it allows users to be assigned as moderators to a single thread or to a single Social Group discussion and allows usergroups to be assigned as moderators to forums. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you like this mod please hit the https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2015/08/1.png button to the right ----> Please remember to click the, https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2015/08/2.png button to the right if you installed the mod ----> What does 'Marking As Installed' do ? * It helps you to stay on top of updates - members who have installed modifications will be notified by us whenever new updates are available. * For security issues - vbulletin.org will contact all members who have installed a modification whenever a security issue is brought to their attention. * Marking a modification as installed also helps us know how many people are using our work, giving us extra incentive to provide more features and new modifications. Excellent mod and something I was looking for.

Neat, but how would this actually be useful? How would YOU use it?
|
Genius
|
Is this compatible with moderation auto-pm?

Anyway, original post is here: http://www.dragonbyte-tech.com/f101/...oderator-6113/ I myself think that this is great mod, with numerous possibilities, but we all need to get creative and start to think about our users as possible moderators, of course, supervised with our real moderators. :) |

So they shouldn't get notified if someone report thread, or post. :) |
for this mod, can i set sponsors/advertisers to only moderate threads in their particular forums? for example i want them to be able to moderate their sections, but not their threads on other forum sections.
|
Yes, this is how it is done in free version, you choose forum, you choose which usergroups have which moderators actions in that particular forum.
It is a pro feature that you have certain usergroup which could moderate their threads everywhere. |
Thanks Alan SP,
Now I understand what this is for... I was scratching my head before. |
Yes, this could be very useful thing and help us develop or monetize our communities. :)

Just posted a bugfix release. This version fixes a number of minor bugs that we've come across in our checks on the files and database.
1.0.3 Fixes Fixed: Missing phrases Fixed: Typo in userthreads.php file Fixed: Table Column structure in user table Fixed: Typo in useradmin_edit_column2.php file mokonzi |
I believe this plugin should get much more effort before asking money for it.
It basically does not work 'as it is'. I have version 4.0.8. It will not work until doing the following change in the functions.php: PHP Code:
This is probably Okay, but... 1. Where is the soft-delete ability which is announced? One of the posters has a thread which has about 1,000 pages. Moderators have no time to clean it up, and I'd like to allow this poster to take care about his thread by allowing him editing and deliting messages. The only way I found is clicking 'Edit' and then in the Advanced Edit mode VB has an option 'Delete'. Just imagine how much time the poster should spend for deleting ~900 pages by clicking 'Edit' on each message and then 'Delete'! This should be done 18,000 times! This is really terrible. 2. After having this plugin running, option 'Manage thread' becomes available. This is definitely a bug. Since it allows moving a thread into any forum poster wants. |
This mod at the current time doesn't allow inline moderation, so yes, users need to edit post and go advanced to soft delete them.
Maybe in newer version there will be option for this, but in my opinion, this as it is now is pretty big improvement to not being able to allow any kind of moderation to users at all. Users don't need to have all moderators tools at their disposal. |

If you've got this problem without the code change you made above, please let us know so we can investigate. |
Hi
I was looking for something like this, and I'm willing to pay for it, but before any tests and purchasing, I want to ask about specific scenario that I want to use this product for. I want to give thread starter and some other users the control on specific thread/s in specific forum/s, not all his threads in that forum/s, is it possible with your product? I found this product that may do what I want, but I have bad feeling about it (it is looks like dead product) http://www.forumsmods.com/cart/product/3-Threadmins Regards :). |
Are you going to create mod User Threads for VB3? I would buy it.

I am not as good in English. Will you do VB3 version or not any time in future?

Hi Guys,
Thanks for another great mod! I do have one issue though. I've set-up a specific sub forum to have delete & close access, however there are no available options to them to be able to soft delete other user posts. |
Users should be able to edit posts of other users (if they're thread starters) and there is option to soft delete posts while editing. Not as in inline moderation, where you can select posts and then select action to be done on them.

New version has excellent possibilities.
There's so much new and exciting features in new version. |
Hello.
Is it compatible with vB 3.8.x? |
The thread author can delete any post in his thread BUT he cannot edit any post.
Is this feature available in the lite version? |

There are two sections to this mod... User Threads which allows a user to edit the other posts in their own thread has editing and soft delete permissions for per user and per forum/usergroup combo, but there are no default permissions for a usergroup (as in they automatically can edit their own threads) as that is a Pro only feature. Threadmins allows any user to be added as a moderator to any thread. The Lite version allows editing, but only the Pro version allows for deleting of any sort. I hope that helps answer your question. :) Matt |

It is a question :) Quote:
What I want is >> the users can moderate their own threads but I don't want to give them the permissions to edit the others posts in their own threads. I noticed that if I want to give the user the permissions to delete, then I should give him before the permissions to edit. I want to give them the permissions to only delete the others post in their own threads but not to edit The question is: If the user can't edit the others posts in his thread, then how can he delete the posts? because there will be no (edit) button to delete the post. I wish my question is clear =) Thanks Matt |

I am intrigued though on exactly why you would want this functionality... :) Matt |

For example in this thread (your thread), I will accept if you delete my post, but I don't accept from you to edit my post and maybe write something that I didn't want to say it or write it. This is my post, keep it as it is or delete it, that is why I want this feature. :) I have +20,000 users and I want to give them all the permissions to moderate their threads (but without edit option) |
I agree that if you give users the ability to mod their threads, it would be useful to limit it to delete only -- not edit.
|
Ok, I'll see what can be done and whether we can introduce such a feature. :)

Hi DBTech, I'd like to report an issue we're having with this mod on our forum. Running vB 4.2.0 PL3, Thread Admins are not working as expected. When assigning administrative permissions to a specific user in a thread, users are being told they have insufficient permissions to access the desirable functions. It seems the mod enables them to see the options, but not to use them.
The example I'm speaking of is in a currently closed thread where the user in question has been given full thread administrative permissions. They are unable to edit any posts (receiving the "This thread is closed!" warning). They are unable to post while the thread is closed, thus unable to use the "Re-open thread after posting" option in the quick reply box, despite the mod making it available. Also, when using the "Administrative" drop-down menu and attempting to perform a moderator action (such as open/close for example), they receive this message: Quote:
|
I think we have a working fix for this problem. I'll prepare it for release tomorrow. One quick question about this, does this tend to happen to other users who aren't using the Threadmins or User Threads part of the mod, or is it only happening to the users assigned the Threadmins permissions?
Matt |
Hi Matt,
Thanks for the reply. I believe this only happens with users assigned threadmin permissions. I haven't encountered any problems with users that already have moderator permissions over these areas. It seems they're being rejected on the basis that they don't really have permissions as a moderator, but are only being permitted to see the moderator actions and not use them. Thanks again, Kybyrian |
Hi everyone,
A bug fix for a number of minor issues taking Threadmins and Group Moderators to version 2.0.5 for the vBulletin 4 series. These fixes should fix a number of issues users have had with permissions conflict. The full changelog is here: Fixed: Issue with some moderators being unabled to edit certain threads. Fixed: Issue with some users being unabled to edit threads when they've been assigned Threadmins permissions. Fixed: Commented out Threadmins menus where not usable. Changed the following files: /dbtech/userthreads/includes/class_core.php /dbtech/userthreads/hooks/editpost_start.php |
Installation Failed
Sorry, the product encountered an error during installation. More information is provided below to help address the issue. bitfield_dbtech_userthreads.xml not found in directory /home/***uitgeweest.nl/public_html/includes/xml/ I think the upload folder misses some files! |
