Please look at my site and tell me...

Hello,

I have a great new redesign of my site but i hate the layout for the cms homepage. It looks Chaotic. I hate the headings and its a mess. I want a clean and professional look. Not something someone who is learning how to make a website put together. Can anyone suggest ideas/layout grids or even help me do this. If you want me to pay i will. I really cant stand the layout. Here is my link:

pink skin way to much

muslimmomscafe 03-19-2012 11:11 PM

what do you suggest??

JacquiiDesigns 03-19-2012 11:11 PM

It's a website/forum for Moms ==> The pink is perfect for the niche!

In fact = I love the design. I think it's brilliant. Congratulations on trying something new. It's one of the more unique vB 4.x skins I've seen in a while. Nice logo/header - wonderful matching forum index icons and really nice to see that you've customized the icons on forumdisplay as well. The branding concept is solid!

Really nice look. If you enter it in March 2012 Board of the Month competition = I'll send the nomination :)

oh - the one thing I would suggest is limiting the amount of private forums you have. It looks like you have a nice amount of content - but guests cannot see it... IMO that's unfortunate.

Oh thanks! Someelse designed it, not me. Should i still enter?

I will make some not private. It's just that the members feel more comfortable with it. But i can let several more open.

Any thoughts on the Homepage layout. You would have to be registered to actually see it all (i dont know why that is).
I just dont like the layout. Seems unorganized.

thanks

Oh I understand - I'd done a bit of work on a women-oriented forum before and respected the fact that some privacy within the community is paramount to say.... clicks on advertisements LOL --- So yes - allow a comfort level which your members expect and it should be good, as afterall - it is the members which make the community ;)

As for the homepage layout = I'm not a fan of the vBulletin CMS - I think it looks clunky, chunky and in need of a design monkey to ............. redesign it :P

Otherwise ==> FABULOUS design!

Good luck with your site ;)

J.

and yes - you can nominate the forum - I started to nominate it myself.
I really think it's an impressive display for a vB 4.x board!

Whoa. It looks really good. The pink is really soothing and goes really well.

As for the CMS the design is good but the layout needs some changes; I'd remove the middle (Meet MMC Mom's) column and add some sections, also possibly a slider and would focus on filling it up with more content.

I don't normally dig pink, but it looks good. Who made the design? Can you PM me their contact details?

setishock 03-22-2012 03:32 AM

It's pink but not in your face loud pink. It's subtle. Looks good.
(mine should look so good;))

Your index page is jumbled. See some of your boxes alignments, they're messed up. The overall skin looks VERY nice. Good design, a bit pink, but it's clearly a women community. Love the work done there.

hmmm - the index page shows just fine in Opera - I've just viewed in Internet Explorer though and it seems as if there are a bit of css issues.

I believe there are issues viewing my own forum in IE too though. My opinion is if the user cannot upgrade to a better browser - then good luck viewing the site, as we do not support IE...
