Activity drop down at vb.org?
Maybe it is just me but I have noticed a significant drop down in activity here lately. The unread post number used to be at least twice that much before. I am not saying it as a bad thing or anything like that, just something I noticed.

It seems vb.org has taken a big hit in search traffic recently for long tail searches, I remember for years when search for modifications or vbulletin related solutions VB.org was normally top 1 or 2 but in the last couple of months most pages are sitting below the fold of the page if not lower for alot of things that were normally.
Just an observation and i would imagine it wouldn't have much to do with the activity as the activity is by licensed users anyway. |
That could have something to do with it. I'll bet there are a lot of licensed users who search for an answer before coming here. And someone just recently posted about a site that looks like it's taking posts from here just to get the search engine traffic.

I typically check subscribed threads first. After that I go "New Posts" and scan the titles. If nothing interests me, I hit "Mark Forums Read." If something does interest me, I read and might even reply. I always hit "Mark Forums Read" though, to end the session while never actually hitting the "Log out" link.
I visit 4-5 times a day, and there's typically always 100 or so unread posts for me. I've found that when it's not overly busy here, it's also not overly busy on my board, or the other 6 boards I am on. Some of those 6 are BIG ones, and they have ebbs and flows as well. It's all subjective. You can't really conclude "traffic is down" just based on your observations. |
If there is any method by which you can identify the old, uldeleted spam posts and then delete them, then it will result in better ranking on Google.
Having dofollow spam links on your site can result in penalties from Google and search engines. But yes, I have noted significant decline in vB3 related mods and discussions. I think its much better with vB4. |
Yes activities have slowed down at both locations. I'm on at either location a lot and see very little new posting and what is posted is getting little to no response.
