[DBTech] Forum Live Feed & User Wall v1 (vB3) [AJAX]

1 Attachment(s)
Forum Live Feed & User Wall lets you see a continuously updated feed of activities on the forum, with a powerful set of customisation options for sources of information.

Uses
If you've wished for a Facebook-like feed for your forum, this mod is for you.

This mod adds 2 distinct features to your site. First a live feed showing actions performed by everyone on the forum, from new threads and posts to things like new avatars or signatures, your members can customise their feed and keep up to date with everything that's going on, right as it happens.
Secondly every user also has their own wall that displays what they have been up to. This lets users see what their friends have been doing and join in!
With advanced privacy configuration options and configurable preview options for each content type, this mod compliments other modifications like InfoPanels and produces a more detailed and verbose feed of the happenings on the forum.

<3 You listened. Thank you so much :) Can Mods and Admins remove some of these statuses if they are bad? Also, do they abide by our censorship rules?

DragonByte Tech 03-03-2012 01:03 AM

That is not currently an option, and currently they do not use the censored rules.

We'll update the mod with this in the future :)

Alright, cool. I won't be using it until that is in tact because our site is PG. I remember with the FB Status-like vBulletin Mod on here that you could only remove their status (or edit, but to remove it from the Forum Homepage with the Status Listings) by going into the database through phpMyAdmin. Too much work! Also, I uninstalled the mod because it gave me a error for my vBAdvanced. I might reinstall the product just to give you the error message if you want it, unless you already have experienced it/known issue?

censorship and usergroup perms are required

tommydamic68 03-03-2012 10:54 AM

Must be able to remove spam and profanity or whatever admins choose. When updated will install.

We always, always want an error message :)

It's not a known issue, but it is known that vBAdvanced does not work with a great number of mods unfortunately :(

in order to see a members feed u have to go to the live feed and click the username . it needs a tab in the members profile or even better a setting in each users usercp which shows what friends are doing

Konstantinos 03-03-2012 12:18 PM

Fatal error: Using $this when not in object context in /home/../includes/class_hook.php on line 57

vbadvanced

That is part of our future plans :)

vbadvanced

The issue appears to be how vBAdvanced loads its code then, unfortunately I don't think there's anything I can do about that :(

vbadvanced

This is what I got for my forum, too. I don't know why is it bugging the vBAdvanced if this is just part of a php file on the forums section, but who knows. Until someone finds a fix and the remove statuses/censorship is added, I have to keep it disabled.

DragonByte Tech 03-04-2012 10:12 PM

I've uploaded a fix for the vBAdvanced issue, please re-download the zip file and re-upload /dbtech/livewall/hooks/process_templates_complete.php :)

There should be an update out tomorrow that adds status deletion and implements the vBulletin censorship as well :)

Since there is no sidebar in vb3, is it possible to implement this Live Wall within this sidebar mod? - https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=204773

Thanks

DragonByte Tech 03-05-2012 09:29 AM

If you post this as a feature request over at our forum we'll take it into consideration for future versions :)

Fillip

hpidriver 03-05-2012 10:40 AM

Very well, I'll do that.

btw, on your forums I noticed you have separate comment space available for each post in a thread, is that a modification?

DragonByte Tech 03-05-2012 10:44 AM

That's a Pro-only feature (the entire Comments system is) :)

Dear DragonByte Tech,

Is this mod can somehow be replacement of visitor messages feature of VB?

And also I wonder this block could be used with VBadvanced?

DragonByte Tech 03-05-2012 11:21 AM

I'd have to say the answer is no to both questions. This mod does not feature the level of persistence and history viewing the VMs do, and it does not have a vBAdvanced module at this time.

Fillip

I was under the impression the Comments system only appeared within this Live Wall.
So this mod also adds the comments inside each post for every thread also?

DragonByte Tech 03-05-2012 09:12 PM

It does, yeah :)

Forum Live Feed & User Wall v1.2.2:
Feature: Status updates can now be deleted
Feature: Added profile tab for user walls (does not automatically update, but contains links to the full "live" user wall). This tab can be turned off via a setting in vBulletin Options.
Fix: Will no longer interfere with vBAdvanced.

For the same reason as edited posts etc don't update, deleted status updates won't vanish from other peoples' walls until they reload the page / it vanishes off their feed naturally.
This is to preserve resources and cannot be changed at this time.

DragonByte Tech 03-05-2012 11:26 PM

PS: To whoever who was asking for censor to be implemented: This already worked, it's built-in to the BBCode parsing :)

Awesome, that may entice me to purchase the Pro version instead.

Just a heads up, I registered for your forums to post the feature request but I keep getting the following error when trying to post: "The question Website URL: is missing required info." Even though I have filled out the url box with www.mysite.com/forums

DragonByte Tech 03-06-2012 09:01 PM

Try using http:// in front of it, there may be an issue with the regexp we use to validate URLs :(

Code:

MySQL Error  : Unknown column 'entry.receiveduserid' in 'where clause'
Error Number  : 1054
Script        : http://www.xxxxxxx.com/forums/livewall.php
MySQL Version : 5.1.61

Hello, I'm getting this error. Tried to re-up files and install again, but same issue. Any assistance would be appreciated.

DragonByte Tech 03-22-2012 03:14 PM

Please update [DBTech] Advanced Post Thanks / Like to the latest version.

Fillip

hpidriver 03-24-2012 09:44 PM

Is it possible to limit comments on the first post only?

DragonByte Tech 03-25-2012 01:06 PM

That's not currently possible, sorry :(

Comments are also a Pro-only feature :)

Fillip

great kitten 03-25-2012 09:58 PM

As consumption of resources?

DragonByte Tech 03-26-2012 12:55 PM

We've not received any complaints regarding excessive resource usage in this mod :)

Fillip

Goomzee 03-28-2012 05:09 AM

could i show Live Feed what's your mind on Forum page.

DragonByte Tech 03-28-2012 09:41 AM

Not currently, no.

The vB4 version has a sidebar block, but the Forum Sidebar (a vBulletin feature) does not exist on vB3 :)

If you'd like that feature you'll need to update to vB4 :)

Fillip

Goomzee 03-28-2012 09:53 AM

ok thanks for reply

Mukashi 03-31-2012 10:41 AM

Hmmm. Odd. The Quote tag doesn't seem to be parsing in the Forum Sidebar block for this addon. Why would that be happening? Oo;

TheRealso0sick 06-07-2012 04:42 PM

Is it possible to exclude threads from different sections showing up in the live feed?

Like

"x replied to the thread y" <- i want that not to show up for some sections

DragonByte Tech 06-07-2012 05:05 PM

Forum exclusion is a Pro-only feature :)

Ok thank you

One problem,
when the live feed refreshes
it only shows empty entries.
Theres space where the entry should go, but nothing in it.

What could be the problem?

DragonByte Tech 06-08-2012 01:00 PM

Can you tell me what entry is supposed to be there?

Fillip
