v3 Arcade - New Thread On Highscore

1 Attachment(s)
Firstly, thanks to stangger5 for allowing me to release this updated version of his vB3 hack here. This was updated by one of my staff members.

This is for v3 Arcade 2.0.x

What Does It Do?

A new thread is automatically created in a forum of your choice when a new highscore has been achieved in the arcade.

How To Install

1. Import the product-v3anewhighscorethread.xml file..
2. Go into your AdminCP > Settings > Options > v3 Arcade Thread on New Highscore

Fill in the required details and save.
There may well be a more advanced version included in the next release of v3 Arcade but this should suffice til then

History
1.1.0 - Initial release
1.1.1 - Updated code

thanks :P

I've been waiting for this, thanks! Would love to see the following features though:

1), New threads gets created by the winner, rather than a specific username/ID.
2), Skip new threads if a thread of that specific game is already created, create reply IN that thread instead.

Regards,
Skyrider

If Brian continues down the same road as Kevin was with the arcade development, which I'm sure he will, then there will be a better and more advanced version of the auto-thread posts built into a future arcade release.

Maybe the forum the user is posting in doesn't count towards post count?

Skyrider 03-29-2012 02:27 PM

Possible bug report?

No new thread is being created if a user beats his own high-score.

Gemma 03-29-2012 02:49 PM

Not really, I know what you are saying but this just works the same way as the News & Events works in the arcade. That doesn't show you as a new champion if you beat your own highscore either.

I'll look and see if something can be incorporated to report when you better your own highscore :)
