Best Anti-DDdos Software

whats the best one. also is their one so when they attack it rebound back to them?

thanks

Blocking IE6 stops most DDoS attacks, since most all zombie computers in botnets are IE6 computers.

And increasingly few humans use IE6 anymore, so it's not like you're blocking very many legitimate users, percentage wise.

I used to have a BotNet killing script that would load the latest version of firefox on IE6 computers that would hit my site, and make it the default browser. Backna day.

You could search but I doubt you'll find the exact thing.

I think you're looking for a plug-in that doesn't exist, because it is a plug-in that isn't necessary.

Disasterpiece 01-31-2012 10:10 PM

if the execution line comes to where php is, it's already a DDos :)

Kraxell 01-31-2012 10:14 PM

if you have access to ssh, than you can liste & block the flooding IP's.

Or if you have WHM installed, you can install C&F, its a firewall-addon for WHM and block the ddos.

Still, cloudflare is better than any firewall or iptables or addon because:

- it blocks before the request touches your server
- it filters 90% of known evil stuff by its own
- it magically detects ddos attacks already
- no hassle with setup and updates on your server like 3rd party software

the free version is enough, the paid version only protects against most sql injection and other kind of attacks.

Yep.

Keep in mind that Cloudflare.com can slow down your user's experience. At least that is what I found to be true.

I sure haven't seen any of that or even had it reported. Just the opposite.

How does it slow anything down? It speeds mine up greatly.

Affected page load.

Local Server could display page in 2 seconds and Cloudflare added 3 - 5 seconds on top of that

Never seen anything like that or ever heard of it.

ForceHSS 02-01-2012 04:40 AM

I can confirm it does slow the loading down had to remove it from my forums because of this

Max Taxable 02-01-2012 12:19 PM

Stunning.

Boofo 02-01-2012 02:49 PM

Not really. I had to remove it as it messed up my CPanel admin emails for the site. And I noticed no speed increase, or decrease, whatsoever.

Kraxell 02-01-2012 05:40 PM
