What is vBulletin-Magic Zoom:

vBulletin-Magic Zoom is an addon, that implements Magic Zoom? (http://www.magictoolbox.com/magiczoom/) into your forum posts. Magic Zoom? is a JavaScript zoom tool and a great way to display images in incredible detail. Magic Zoom? is XHTML compliant, CSS compliant, WAI Priority 3 Compliant (AAA). It even works if JavaScript is disabled ? the large image opens as a link.

Installation:

1. Download either a license or the free trial version of Magic Zoom? from here: http://www.magictoolbox.com/magiczoom/ (see right side to either buy a license or download the trial).
2. Unpack the Zip-file (magiczoom-trial.zip) and copy the folder named 'magiczoom' (including all the files and graphics folder with its files) into the clientscript folder of your vbulletin.
3. Now upload everything you find in the 'upload' folder of this addon to your forum root.
4. Import the product file 'product-vbmagiczoom.xml' in admincp.
5. In admincp under 'settings' -> 'options' -> 'Message Attachment Options' set 'Thumbnail Creation' to 'Yes' and 'Use Image Lightbox' to 'No'.
6. In admincp under 'settings' -> 'options' -> 'Magic Zoom Options' check the settings if everything is okay for you.

This addon includes the free trial which can be downloaded from their site. If you want to get a free or paid license, then you need to get in touch with Magic Toolbox.

Looks like this will be a nice mod. But I can not get it to work. I uploaded and installed everything twice, and also tried rebuilding attachment thumbnails. Not sure if I've done something wrong or not?

Okay, so you think that everybody has to download magic zoom himself from their website? Im going to send them a mail and ask, better it is i guess.

I would hate to see you run into any copyright issues with your mod, is the only reason I was asking. Since you are releasing the files with your mod, it can get sticky, according to their license information. A lot of sites from here that would download and use it do get ad payments.

That is correct and to be safe, I excluded the trial from the addon and let people download it themself now. Guess that is the best way to handle this. Thanks for your support with that :)

installed, but not working

This only working on Attachments and you must follow the setting-instruction from vossi.

If this addon is getting frequented, Im going to add the albums and CMS for this aswell, now it only works in postings and attachments.

I have seen this same effect on catalogue sites, magiczoom isnt the only contender available, although very professional other sources include:

MojoZoom
JQZoom Evolution
TJPZoom
Mootools

I think you have the best version though Vossi!

Vossi please push forward with this mod and add all the bells and whistles. I'm open to donating a decent amount if you are in deed going to get serious with it.

I got this to work only with images that were inserted only. If the images were attached by scrolling below the editor and selecting Manage Attachments, they would Not work with magic zoom.

Also after inserting a image and replying to the thread, the magic zoom function didn't appear to work until after I would refresh my browser or selecting F5.

I also tried disabling the attachment feature from below the editor but then the magic zoom would not work at all. So...the best situation here would be to get this mod to with with attachments managed from below the editor.

Btw, anyone thinking of using the trial version, it works, but it displays a message on the bottom of your image that ask you to upgrade to the full version. I would think that there are some that would not be bothered by this display.

I'm considering purchasing the Magic Zoom Plus version to see if it will work with Vossi's mod.

As a update I actually had the Magic Zoom Plus trial version loaded. However, it only seem to match the feature of the Magic Zoom trial version.

I'm going to check how I can implement magic Zoom Plus for the next version.

Photos would get cut off, sometimes no thumbnails, and didn't seem in as much as I'd like it to.

But I do like the concept and will follow this, so tagged.

Pardon me? Reading the description should answer all questions, of coz i did not sell the magic zoom in any part but what you got is the brandingfree version of the addon which has no footer branding anymore. Like I said, reading the description and being patient until I answer mails would have helped. Geez...
