www.pokermaps.com

Hello,

I have a question about some features of Vbulletin.

Was the site pokermaps.com made by Vbulletin? I saw it in the forum of the month or w/e with 10% of the votes.

Or what programs in addition to VBulletin were used in the making of that site?

It does appear to be a very customized vBulletin 4.x site. You should contact the site owner to see what may have been used- to me it looks custom, probably not much you can find on here.

I was just wondering because i looked at some of the other websites and when you clicked out of the forum the whole layout and theme were different.

So essentially i could choose a team lets say http://forum-skins.com/store/forum-skins-main-theme So after i install the theme would i be able to click ad new page and make a basic non forum related page that will have same layout? Or does it require me to make the exact same layout in Dreamweaver ect

What i mean by basic page is just post some pics and descriptions ect. But so it would have the same color sheme, navigation bar and everything.

If you buy the Suite package (as opposed to forums-only package) you can make your own "static pages" that will retain the look / layout / navigation of the forum and allow you to add any content you want.

If you buy the forums-only package you can still add your own pages but it is significantly more work, there is an article in the VB4 articles section about creating "your own vBulletin powered pages."

Hi,
There vBulletin Version is: vBulletin 4.1.6
They might be using Complete VB's Theme TotallyPro after customization along with Additional Pages.

Ok so from my understanding I purchase Vbulletin Suite and install a theme like the one i posted I would be able to create a new blank page and it will automatically have the theme? Also will the advertising banners be in the same spot as they would be on a normal CMS page?

The pages I want to create is just a couple of images, and information about a product or service. I don't want the theme to be different just b/c the page is not one of the main ones.
I looked at some of the sites around here and the main 4 forum pages have same theme and than as soon as you go to a different page it changes the theme.

Also is it possible to add custom scripts to vBulletin to make it work with the site? Like point system, store, referral system ect stuff like that. Just trying to get all the facts straight before i purchase.

Also where would i be able to find some coders that do custom scripts ect, I have a pretty big project and am willing to pay $$$. I know general prices of how much it costs to code each script.

contact me dave @ poker maps.com

if you use the vbulletin 4 suite you can make pages and have the same theme as your forum. It allows for blogs and other such pages. Point system is a plugin available with vbulletin. As you can see from my website PokerMaps.com there are many custom scripts running it. However the whole site flows together.

Hope this helps

Dave

<font color="Orange">
While You'll find such already Made Products/Plugins such as Point System {vB-Experience, vB-Activity, etc}, kBank, Store {vB-Shop or a Similar to Members Area of vBulletin, etc}, Referral System, There are many already Plugins which you'll be able to get those here {without paying any extra charges} as soon as You become a Licensed Member.

Oh cool thanks ;). Is there a section on the forums where I would be able to post offers to create certain scripts like my referral system for pay? (once i purchase license) Or post a description of what I need done so coders/designers can can give me a price quote and time frame? I have gotten quotes from other designers and the price was about $2000 ;). But i just found this Vbulletin software which would essentially cut out a lot of the stuff that I needed done. So the remaining scripts that would need to be integrated would range from $600-$1000 for all of them.

that theme is free. Once you buy the vbulletin software, you will be able to download it. From the vbulletin control panel you can import and activate that theme.

One of the reasons so many programmers and designers choose vbulletin is because of the many free "MODS" and "PLUGINS" already available. I am sure you can find a free MOD/Plugin to use for your "referral system for pay"

Do some searching. Happy coding!
