I'll upload photos in around 10 hours. Sorry but it's already 22:30pm here, and I need to add fake data in Forums to be able to give screenshots from the outgoing Newsletter.

Chris

The field "To Send" will get value when the cronruns. To have this value now has no sence. Let me explain. Let's say that you setup to send a Newsletter after 5 days. Now you've 1,000 Members, but till the Sunday you maybe have 1,200 Members. If the newsletter was counting the Members to send emails now, the new 200 members will not get the Newsletter.

Looks good. Thanks Chris. Holding off until hear more feedback - if goes well will be sure to purchase pro.

A custom sideblock feature would be immense.

vb.help 11-23-2011 04:03 AM

Thanks for the mod. Is there any custom templates for the format of the email ?

For formating the template not. I didn't used a template as I wanted to keep this mod compatible with vB3.x. But you can change the colors by modifying the file forummembers/css/newsletter.css. You can also hide some block if you don't like them, by setting 0 in the General settings

Are you sure that cronjobs have run? Please goto:
Scheduled Tasks-> Schedule Task Manager
and run manually:
1.- Newsletter (this prepares the emails)
2.- Newsletter Send Emails (this actually sends the messages)

Chris

whitedd 11-23-2011 08:19 AM

when i run 1.- Newsletter (this prepares the emails) , its never finish...dont have "Done"...

As long as you're not getting any error, you need to wait to finish the job. Also if you've lots of members you must change the time that the cronjob will run. eg if it's every 15 minutes to change it every 30 min or so.

Chris

joeychgo 11-23-2011 11:22 AM

If I try to run the cronjob manually I get

PHP Code:

Newsletters

Parse error
syntax errorunexpected '}' in /home/*******/public_html/truckforum/includes/cron/newsletter_prepare.php on line 84

This is 4.18

Also - the "recurring" checkbox is grayed out and not selectable...

1.- Please upload the attached file at vb_installation/includes/cron
2.- Reccuring is only available in the PRO version

Chris

joeychgo 11-23-2011 08:05 PM

I did. The cron is still not sending out the newsletters. If I preview I get the newsletter fine, but not otherwise.

whitedd 11-24-2011 12:21 PM

Newsletter Send Emails

Fatal error: Call to undefined function getMemberInfo() in /*****/*****/public_html/truckforum/includes/cron/newsletter_sendemails.php on line 52

Christos Teriakis 11-25-2011 05:45 AM

A new, bug fix, release is available for download. It fixes 2 errors found in cronjobs file. To upgrade upload the files inside the folder upload/includes/cron to your forum/includes/cron. Also import the product-newsletter.xml just to update the version number (there are no changes in this file).

I've a warning in my post. Be sure that your hosting provider has enable the Mail() function. For example GoDaddy.com does not have it active and does not activate it even if you ask for it.

Chris

joeychgo 11-25-2011 06:42 AM

Still no good... (no errors though) And the Mail() function is enabled on my servers.

It jsut wont send out emails... Nothing in the cron job log either.

Do you know to use phpMyAdmin, so I can give you some instructions to check if some tables are populating with data after cron runs?

Chris

joeychgo 11-25-2011 03:04 PM
