1.- What's this?

This AddOn replaces the file memberlist.php and shows this list in a better interface and adds more features in the listing (mostly in the PRO version). Please note, that as I said before, there is a replacement of the original memberlist.php, so in case that you want to revert back, you must re-upload this file from your vB distribution. Also after any vB upgrade you need to re-upload my memberlist.php (just re-upload, no re-importing the xml file).

2.- Features
  • Homepage with the following blocks
    • Meet Our Admins
    • 2nd Same Block to promote another usergroup (PRO version only)
    • Top Rated Members (PRO version only)
    • Top Posters Last Week
    • Top Posters Last Month
    • Top Posters Overall
    • Just Join Us
    • *** All blocks can be turn On/Off and also you can change the title
  • Search Members
    • Username
    • Location
    • Join date
    • Posts
    • Age (PRO version only)
    • Points (PRO version only)
    • Infractions (PRO version only)
    • Aim, Icq, Msn, Yahoo, Skype (PRO version only)
    • For Messaging the search works like "Has Aim, Has Icq" and not as the native vB Search where you can search only for a specific account.
  • Rate This Member (PRO version only)
  • Contact Member
    • Email
    • PM
    • Add to Buddy
    • Send Friend Request
    • Aim, Icq, Msn, Yahoo, Skype (PRO version only)
  • Show Avatar or Image
  • Show Online Status
    • Reputation (PRO version only)
  • Featured Members (Different background color) (PRO version only)
3.- Installation
  1. Upload all files in upload directory to your forum directory
  2. Import product-forummembers.xml
  3. Goto Forum Member Setting and set them as you like
  4. Click "Usergroups" (Forum Members Menu) and select which usergroups you want to show (Hold Ctrl + Click for multi select).
  5. Goto vB Usergroup permissions and set them accordinally.
4.- Copyright

This mod is an upgrade of Mary's MemberIndex for which I've got the rights. Copyright removal is phohibited (PRO version does not has copyright link).

5.- Demo (PRO version)

Pitty that you'll not use it:erm: Well I think that memberlist is the only part of vBulletin that never has been retouched. All other sections appear so nicelly except this.

Edited: If it doesn't works, please wait a bit as I want to revert to an earlier version of the cart.

Thank you

Looks very nice.

My only comment would be, it needs an option to simplify it so that (a) it just goes straight to the actual member list and (b) it can show all members in one view, not split by usergroup. A lot of sites like mine have usergroup names kept private, they are never exposed in the public UI and members generally don't know they exist.

I can probably hack it to be like that myself but I think it'd be a useful option to have.

There is an option to admincp to specify which usergroup(s) you want to show. So its up to you to not include your special usergroups.

Chris

Thanks...is there an option to just show all off them though? That's really what I'd need to do.
Aside from admin/mod, we use usergroups to restrict permissions to certain types of member and this is done entirely back-end, there's no public visibility of the fact the groups exist, nor who is in them.

Though as I say (without seeing the code) I reckon I can fairly easily hack this in.

Try the attached file. Haven't checked it, but it should works.

Another excellent mod from you Chris.

Your link to the PRO version gives an error...

When I look at my memberlist the "username" is white and when hovering over it it turns black.
Where can I change the color of the username text (white) to another color as the white one is not visible?

Scalemotorcars 11-19-2011 12:40 PM

Chris your e-shop seems to have bitten the dust.

Usergroup Settings.

Uninstalled it just now, very buggy. The default avatar (noavatar.gif) path is broken, the alphabetic username search doesn't work and the pagination doesn't work either - it redirects you to forumhome. Also the css for my header (logo/login toplinks) and navbar is broken when viewing the memberlist.php

Agreed, I have uninstalled for now.

Main issues are as above - Alphabetic bar is not working and the same for the pagenav - both just lead to white pages.

Very promising though. I had it looking pretty decent, but only the first page would display.

Anything has bugs. What makes the difference is the time to fix them. In less than 45min, I just released a fix for:

1.- Wrong avatar path
2.- Pagination wrong link
3.- Sorry I was unable to reproduce your report for wrong Letter search. For me works.
4.- As for your special style, as I seen you're designer. Just include the css to the head section of forummembers_index template and everything should be ok.

Chris I can also reproduce the letter issue...clicking a letter gives me a white blank page.

Could you please copy the URL of the blank page. eg in my installation is:
memberlist.php?do=usergrouplisting&ltr=N&groupid=2 &pagenumber=1
and works fine.

Chris

My URLs are the same, I verified them against the demo. But I just get blank pages, same with the pagenav.

Opssss..... if you're talking for the special file that I post for you, I need to check it again, as I've renamed the usergrouplisting procedure as "main".

Thanks Chris...I can probably make the changes myself (I have already customised the file) if you point me in the right direction.

Hello Mark,

Please don't get me wrong, there is no intention to underestimate your experiance to modify the file, but its easier for me to make the changes than to write instructions on how to do it. Actually there were lots of changes.

Please upload the attached file. Also import the xml file to remove the usergroup block from the template.

Chris

Very nice mod, I'd love to use, but most likely it's not going to work for me.

doctorsexy 11-20-2011 10:48 AM

Very nice ..but not showing top posters only 0 posters and how do i select more than 1 usergroup in the Acp..

Any plans for Maria's old newsletter Chris ?

I like the idea of this one, sadly it never worked or got support

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=269620

It pulls all the info from VB into the newsletter - which saves a lot of time putting a newsletter together

Cheers Chris

Thanks Chris, with some tweaking I think I have this how I'd like it now...

http://www.bowlandcentral.com/forum/memberlist.php

Obviously the templates are tweaked somewhat, mine always are. :)

Only thing I can't get working is the online status of each user. Nothing seems to show, even when I used the default template.

Hey

I've downloaded and added this to my forum

It appears that when i select the top posts etc etc it only seems to pull the data from the registered users group not my other usergroups that i have created therefore it is saying that the top poster has 14 posts....the top poster actually has 2800 (ish) posts

Help please

Yes, you're right. The Top poster are counting only from the register usergroup for a simple reason. Always the usergroups Administrators and Moderators are those which are having the most posts, so it has no sense to show as Top posters these usergroups.
In any case I'm planing to add a feature to select which usergroups to search for counting the Top posters.

Chris

DEREKTROTTER 11-25-2011 07:46 PM

I'm not sure why, but the search option doesn't seem to be showing up for me. Do you know why?

Mark.B 11-25-2011 08:24 PM

I have now completed my work, using this to turn my memberlist into a sexy beast!
http://www.bowlandcentral.com/forum/memberlist.php

My only small concern is that this mod is very heavy on queries. I have 32 members per page and it's 138 queries.
Other than that it's great.

Very nice!
I would also like to have the memberlist open up to a specific usergroup but also have the usergroup menu.

Slow and buggy. Removed.
