Vb.org load time being very slow or is it just me??

For the past 6hours, the pages seem to load very slow for me. Any one else facing this problem?? I am on latest version of fire fox.

HMBeaty 09-13-2011 06:17 PM

Loads fine for me :)

borbole 09-13-2011 09:13 PM

It has been loading slowely for me recently as well but not all the time, with intervals.

Lynne 09-14-2011 01:52 AM

It's not just you. :/

Here's a tracert (I'm affected by this problem, highly irritating it takes 1 hour to update 20 mods), could you please pass this along to whoever is in charge of the server .org runs on?

That'd be grand :)

To be blunt it's dragging its tail. VB com is dragging a bit also. Other places I go to are working fine.

I dont think its the server, its not looking very busy. Unfortunately, on the IB network we go through a bunch of other network boxes before you even hit the final server.

Paul M 09-19-2011 08:55 PM

The IB database techs are going to be doing some work on the database tomorrow, at around 1:30pm (PST).

setishock 09-21-2011 12:32 PM

Didn't help. Both vb org and com are still taking a bit to load pages.
I look at the vb 4 sections and want to zero in in a question. I click it and it may take 4 to 5 seconds to load the thread. I click back using the breadcrumbs to the vb 4 section and it takes 5 to 6 seconds to load back up.
At vb com it's close to the same times. Might be prudent to move the com and org off the box they are on and give them a quieter environment.
Oh and I'm on a 20 down 5 up cable connection so I don't think it's on my end.

BirdOPrey5 09-21-2011 01:54 PM

For what it's worth both vb.org and .com are moving at their normal pace for me, and have been.

souperman 09-28-2011 07:23 AM

vb.org is still sluggish for me at times. Sometimes it goes down for a minute and sometimes it's just plain slow. It's tolerable, I'm just saying though.

I feel Terrible when i have to wait for a 20secs for a page to load!!

souperman 09-29-2011 08:21 PM

I know what you mean....

Weird how vb.com and vb.org are hosted on the same server/s and vb.com loads at lightning speeds, while vb.org takes forever. It looks like the vb staff are prioritizing their vb.com site. I understand why, but they should really look into this subject a little more.

That too, here they are using 3.x.x

Hope it gets fixed soon.

JimxJNM 09-29-2011 11:07 PM

For the Best it's been good for me. If i were you i Perfer Safari 3.0.3 ;)

Paul M 09-30-2011 10:36 AM

IB are aware of the issue. The plan is to move off the same server as vb.com, but there is no eta for that atm.

At least now we know they're planning to do something about it. Thanks for the update Paul :)

socialteenz 10-16-2011 05:41 AM

OMG!! I don't feel like using this site with this load time.

It is TERRIBLE!!

It's almost a month now, how can IB people be so careless??

Although vBulletin.org gets slow sometimes, it hasn't been slow for an entire month... And its occasional slow downs have been an issue for a long time, nothing new in this last month.

kh99 10-16-2011 02:20 PM

I agree, it's occasionally frustrating because I click on something and have to wait, but to me it's pretty much the same as it's always been.

I mean they have not taken any decision towards this!!

mmfgamer5 10-16-2011 05:44 PM

6 times out of 10, if I click a link, the page will just sit there loading for a while, and then if I click on the link again, it loads almost instantly. It's very odd - I've noticed it in the past few weeks or so.

Somewhat the same for me. If I click it once, and let it do its thing, I get a DNS Lookup Error page, if I click it twice (a few seconds after the first click) I don't get that and everything loads as it should

mmfgamer5 10-16-2011 05:54 PM

I haven't ever gotten the DNS Lookup Error, but then again, I haven't really waited more than 30 seconds. If I stop the page as it's 'loading', I just get the forum background. If I then refresh it, it's fine.

There is no requirement to add multiple exclamation marks to messages.

In fact, blindly moving server with no proof its actually the server thats the issue could be classed as careless.

As noted above, I also sometimes get the site hanging, but if you refresh, it loads fine. I dont actually know what the cause is atm, but from monitoring Im pretty sure its not actually the server - couple this with the fact that vb.com seems unaffected (running on the same server) - and it seems to suggest the issue lies elsewhere.

Have you disabled your modifications? Reuploaded your default vBulletin files? ;) (kidding, of course :p)

Paul M 10-16-2011 06:36 PM

Funnily enough, just to prove me wrong, Im seeing some delays in mysql tonight, causing other transactions to wait on locks

Here's another one (from trying to get to a thread). 98% of the time, this happens to me when I click on "New Posts", unless I click it twice (with a few seconds in between clicks)

the best way to use this forum is using Opera Turbo for me. Since, it almost disables most of the functions, its opening vborg with out any issue but if I consider FF yes I do have issues at times, I have to refresh to get a faster loading speed/time.

souperman 10-17-2011 03:52 AM

It's a little annoying, but it's tolerable.

Princeton 10-17-2011 11:01 AM

the site is horribly slow for me on many occasions

RobbieZ 10-18-2011 06:31 PM

I get no lag or slowness. <shrug>

setishock 10-18-2011 08:57 PM

Well maybe it's time to play Suzy Homemaker on the place. A little cleanup...

I thought maybe it was just me that was having that problem.

Kinda kills wanting to even visit honestly.

Paul M 10-24-2011 10:54 AM

I made some changes at the start of the week to cut down the thread locking issues, and it seems to have improved a lot since then. I havent experienced the delays like I was last weekend.

kh99 10-24-2011 10:57 AM

I hadn't thought about it until now, but same here - I don't remember seeing any delays this past weekend.
