Answers Forum
Ever wanted to enable the ability to specify a certain forum as an "answer" forum, where members can post questions and select the best answer given by the community? This is similar to yahoo answers, a very effective website where users can post questions and seek answers from registered users. Answering questions can get to be a mess, keep it organized and save yourself a bit of hassle when dealing with Q&A's. As a webmaster, you already have enough on your hands to have to worry about answering questions sometimes, and need an effective way to do this! Or maybe, you just want to let your community do it for you ;)

Difference Between Answer Forum Light & Answer Forums Premium
* Enable a questions forum Lite/Premium
* Allow users to choose best answer Lite/Premium
* Integrates with vbplaza (reward answer providers) Lite/Premium
* Question Statistics on forumdisplay Premium Only
* Top Helpers on forumdisplay Premium Only
* Recently Answered on forumdisplay Premium Only
* View Answered Topics Premium Only
* View Unanswered Topics Premium Only
* Answered Topics in postbit Premium Only
* Private Message user who's answer was chosen Premium Only
* Private Message answer provider if the answer is reset Premium Only
* Control user's ability to reset their own topic's answer Premium Only
* Allow usergroups to reset any topic's answer Premium Only
* Allow usergroups to select any topic's answer Premium Only *new
* Integrates with vbcredits (reward answer providers) Premium Only
 Tips & Suggestions
I've found that using Thread Prefixes and tweaking things up a bit is a great way to get things categories, unless you want to make forums for each or use Extra Threadfields Had been asked this a few times.

Right on! At least the zip said it so as not to confuse anyone too much, but i've changed the title nonetheless, if you've already gotten the wrong impression that's one person too much :p

Let me know how you enjoy the mod!

FReeSTER 09-08-2011 04:45 PM

this is good if allow you to chose which forums to add this instead of adding new forums. Is great but cant afford the cost of it :(:o

Gio~Logist 09-08-2011 09:26 PM

You can choose which forums to add, right in the forum manager you set it up per forum.

Lamonster 01-18-2012 06:57 PM

Tried the light version but I get a "you do not have permission to access this page" when I go you select "best answer" and I don't see anywhere to set permissions for that.

Also I was just going to but the full version but can't create an account because it keeps saying my answer is wrong for creating a user account "ProvB" If this worked I would love it but so far no joy.

TheSupportForum 01-18-2012 07:22 PM

please remove premium version link its only for version 3 of vbulletin you are not selling for version 4 as advertised above
and plus the website has a virus already which it gave me, wtf!!

^ I'm not receiving any such message or alert from any of my anti-this or that software so perhaps a false-positive Simon?

No such message for me either. More than likely a false positive

i have been using this antivirus for 2 years now
if you browse his site you'll see you might get redirected for no reason
i simply ment that until his website is clean of this virus it should be removed

remember that all antivirus software behave differently and some dont detect trojan virus etc...

Simon: HMBeaty is probably right, definitely no viruses on the website!

Lynne 06-18-2012 09:05 PM

I have no problems with his site either. Software does give false positives at times.

Yep.

Gio~Logist is posting here? Actually responding to people?

I bought the Extra Threadfields and Advanced Forum enhancements from ProvB. Can't get a bit of support for the bugs and other problems. Posting questions on the ProvB forum is a black hole.

The only posts on the ProvB support forum are from disgruntled customers upset about paying for buggy and unsupported software.

Don't trust this guy.

Are you talking about this developer's premium mods? Or premium mods in general?

I haven't had time to support the free version much as I've been busy with paid clients for both contracted work and premium product purchases. However, i've subscribed myself to this thread again in case anyone is having any issues.

inetdev 01-28-2015 01:55 PM

Code:

!($permissions['answers_forum_perms'] & $vbulletin->bf_ugp['answers_forum_perms']['canselect_others_answers'])
I get the "you do not have permission to access this page" message as well, and it's because of the check above in the 'Answer Light Forums - Update Thread Answer Light' plugin. Is there anything missing from the light version installation files?

Are you trying to choose the answer for your own question or someone else's question?

Keep in mind that the light version only allows you to select answers for your own question.

inetdev 01-29-2015 03:04 PM

Thanks, Gio~Logist. I wasn't aware of the light version limitation. I verified that I could answer my own question with the light version, but wanted the full capabilities, and so purchased the pro version. It does what we need. Thanks!

Awesome! Glad you're enjoying it :)

Thanks for confirming for any other curious members on here ;)

The Lite Version doesn't work on vb 4.2.3

edit: it works, forget to enable the function on the single forums

dariyos 12-08-2015 08:31 AM

is it possible that someone else, who didn't wrote the thread, mark the answer as the best and can reset it?

maybe in the fullversion?

is it possible to enable the mod only for NEW threads/posts?
