Admincp and Modcp firewall go into your cpanel-security u will see password protect directories. go to each one set a password (different ones, hard ones) then set a user for each one, different user names n passwords. Write these down and give them to your Super mods and admins. So when they go their they will have to use the pass (the one u made) then put in their user name n password.

*note same for includes i havent done that yet, because i want to ask around make sure that wont have any affect on the site, Password protecting the other two will not i can assure u.

i see you didnt list changing the admincp path just the modcp so do the same thing, rename admincp to w/e n make sure u also change it in config.php

as far as changing config.php i havent yet again i want to insure it will not have any affect on my site

vBulletin writing ability will be the correct permissions for things again i have same error as u. not sure of fix.

So it is the option that is only VB 3 specific? You should at least make a notation next to the option and or delete it on VB 4 installs else people running it and VB 4 will get database errors.

that is the weird thing mate that both folders have been re-named to my likes since I opened the forum.. Is one of those things I always do first when opening a new forum... So the rename works flawlessly on AdminCP folder but the ModCP is NOT. Wondering why.

yes my friend that is exactly how i get it done.. but is not recognizing the ModCP same as it did to the AdminCP.

example
1- enter your site ftp or cpanel
rename
admincp to adsksksk

and
ModCP to fffgfgfgfg

2- edit config.php
search for line

OMG mate. lol
I re-named the folders again as I did this already in the past and now the links for the admincp and for the modcp are not working.

They both redirect me to forum instead... No I am in huge problem..
I double checked the names on the folders and the names I added at the config.php and they both match.

Now what should I do?

Is this a cookie base ?
I dont have access now to the AdminCP at all

Please advise

OK, apparently the rename dont work with some signs like #, I renamed it back again with that particular sign and I have gain access to the admin and mod CP again. uffffffffffff lol

I dont use letters, I use pretty much numbers and signs to hide any folder I want in the forum
I will try to refresh again and see if it work now

permissions folder root vBulletin . i see can hacker writ for you vBulletin folder

and
check i see you have folder name ( modcp ) on you vBulletin
add firewall on control panel in new name for admincp , modcp

and add firewall for includes

and
i recommend rename config.php
