Please read the MOTM rules carefully.

Both the top mods in this vote have broken the vote rally rules by posting links in their threads asking you to directly vote for them.
Both qualify to be disqualified. However, in this case we have decided not to do this, but simply 'fine' each of them a fixed number of votes each and remove the links.

Please note that in future, if we see this happening, mods are liable to be removed from the vote.

vbresults 08-29-2011 02:22 PM

Does the "Nominate for MOTM" link here break the rule as well?

Paul M 08-29-2011 03:36 PM

Nope, thats fine, you are just replicating the existing link (which TBH is a bit pointless).

You can suggest people nominate you. You are not permitted to ask/beg/whatever for votes if you are actually in the motm.

Christos Teriakis 08-29-2011 04:36 PM

My apologies. Honestly I didn't knew it. I thought that is normal to place such a link. I mistaken. Sorry.

C.T.

BirdOPrey5 08-29-2011 08:01 PM

As am I, sorry for the mistake. Just so everyone is clear a single link to this thread is allowed but we can't ask people to vote for us.

Do nominations turn into votes by chance?

No, users may nominate multiple mods but can only vote for one.

Sorry, as it seems that still I can't understand what was wrong. I had a short link "Vote it for MOTM" which removed. The other mod, has a longer text, again with link, which is still active.

The problem is the wording. You can have a link to this poll, but you can't ask people vote for it.

My link was removed yesterday and I had to re-do it to the current wording.

Note I have a link to this poll but I don't ask people vote for me, I just ask them to vote in general.

Your wording "Vote it MOTM" is the issue as I understand it. I'd suggest something like "We have been nominated for MOTM" with a link, but not actually ask people to vote for you.

Christos Teriakis 08-30-2011 09:24 AM

Ok, now it has sense. But if I had so deep knowledge in English language, for sure I should had more luck in my life.

No Paul It is not Pointless. Things on the top of their topic will get more notice.

You know Paul, I didnt want to say this or have it come down to this. But ever since you joined those imbeciles running the vBulletin 4 development show, You changed overnight. I am sorry to say this Paul, but you are now just turning into one of those corporate scumbags on their high horses who destroyed vBulletin.

I wish Joe (Bop / BirdOPrey5) had joined the vB team instead. At least he is more considerate and knows how to use his tone even when he has to come being a complete douche..

Sorry Paul, But I am just putting it like it is.. :(
