~Reserved~

Didn't find a similar mod for 4.x.x, so I re-released it :)

Ziki 07-23-2011 01:25 PM

I meant one that uses the vBulletins default debug system, without file edits.

Boofo 07-23-2011 01:31 PM

I've been using the 3.8 version of this mod on vb 4 for quite a while now and it has always worked fine. I'll go ahead and switch to this one, although when comparing the files they are almost identical.

Thanks. ;)

Boofo 07-23-2011 02:09 PM

Where does the explain feature work? Only on the forums? It doesn't work in the Admin CP.

Yeah, it's pretty much the same, I just imported it into vb4, checked if everything works and exported again :p

It doesn't? It works fine for me, even in the Mod Cp. Tried it now on fresh vB4 installation :-/

What were you doing in the Admin CP when you used it? Maybe I'm not in the right area.

Well I opened it up right away from the forum and then clicked the first explain link I saw next to the debug stats. Worked on every page I tried, even the sidebar.

Then you didn't open it up first in the Admin CP. That is where I tried it first.

Went straight to admincp and still works for me, no matter what page I try :-/, I even installed a new forum on localhost to try it on and it still worked. Can you try it on a different forum?

I only clicked on it in the Admin CP. I never clicked on it in the fourms.

Ziki 07-24-2011 09:58 AM

Yeah, I meant to try it on a different vB installation :) The explain feature works fine on my board even in the admincp.

Raeven 07-29-2011 05:19 PM

Boofo 08-12-2011 09:02 AM

Not in the Admin CP.

HMBeaty 08-15-2011 02:47 PM

The one for 3.5 still works for me just fine :)

yahooooh 08-15-2011 03:25 PM

can you add ability to exclude some administrators to completey can not see the debug mode including the site , in this version only for admin controle panel

Raeven 08-19-2011 10:25 AM

Works (also worked) nice for me on:

4.1.3, 4.1.4 and 4.1.5 (on 2 Forums, one Forum has over 60 Addons installed, no problems there too). And I still love this addon.

Ziki 06-16-2012 04:54 PM

megabink 07-18-2012 08:34 PM

Installed and it works fine on 4.2.0 thanks buddy.

OcR Envy 08-22-2012 05:32 PM

As to Bofos comments you have to have this mod turned on in forums in order for explain to work in the AdminCP/ModCP.

Quite irrelevant, but no :)

seb5594 03-31-2017 10:01 AM

Really useful addon, works like a charm on vB 4.2.4 :)

BirdOPrey5 05-11-2017 11:48 AM

FYI for those who upgrade to VB 4.2.5 and PHP 7.x this mod was causing a fatal error in the init_startup plugin which means you can't get to the admincp or the forum. You can either do the edits below before upgrading to PHP7, or add the disable hooks line to your config.php file to get access back if you already updated:

PHP Code:

define("DISABLE_HOOKS",true);

In Plugin Manager edit the Explain plugin (on hook init)startup) as follows.

Find the line:

PHP Code:

$newdb =& new vB_Database_Explain($vbulletin);

and comment it out - which means change it to:

PHP Code:

//$newdb =& new vB_Database_Explain($vbulletin);

Then find the line:

PHP Code:

$newdb =& new vB_Database_MySQLi_Explain($vbulletin);

and change it to:

PHP Code:

$newdb = new vB_Database_MySQLi_Explain($vbulletin);

That should fix the error.

If you added the disable hooks line to config.php you can now remove it or comment it out.
