I was searching for this from a long time, we need to enable human verification to stop spammers they just destroy our good going community

Videx 08-06-2011 01:26 AM

I'm not sure I understand this at all. Is this just a way to prevent spambots from starting new threads? If so, wouldn't it just be easier to prevent them from registering in the first place? And how would this prevent them from responding to existing threads?

1. this to prevent software like multi poster, which is used to post new thread without visiting the forum.

2. generally bots post new thread, as they don't know the threadid.

Will wait for next update.
Could you also include a verification based on rank/status? for admins and mods, they shouldn't have to go thru this

i have already added feature to exclude usergroups from Human Verify check.

bremereric 08-13-2011 03:32 PM

Is it thread counts or post counts? I set up a registered user with a post count of 60 and he still had to do the question and answer.

Mod has no problem..

1. You must have put ur usergroupid to exclude from this mod in admincp->settings.

OR

2. Forums is in excluded list.

User groups 5, 6, and 7 which are Moderator, Super Moderator and Adminstrator.

No Forums in excluded list.

so for user belonging to group (5,6,7) post count restriction will not be applied.

That is correct...tell me the easy way to do a screen capture and I will show you how I have it set up. Thanks Eric

PS I added a regular user with low and high posts counts and couldn't get it to restrict them from the answer and question Human Verification. This is VB 4.1.3 also.

Videx 08-13-2011 05:41 PM

You said it "let you post", so the assumption is that yours is an admin account. Perhaps you meant to say it let your normal member test account post with only 45 of the 50 needed posts?

Also you might want to update counters if this is a test account and you're always deleting his posts.

I sign off my admin user name and use EJB-62 as a regular user.

Can that user see question during posting,
if he can see,

Then Go To Plugin Manager

Find:

Code:

newpost_process
and

Post here all the plugins which u got with this hook..

First of all thanks for your help...the easiet way for me to explain is that with your mod turned on...I told it to ignore moderators, super moderators and adminstrators....registered users and such need to have 50 posts before the question and answer disappears.

In Human Verification options with post un-checked everyone can post. With it checked it goes back to the question and answer regardless of how many posts.

I added two new registered users with the same result.

bremereric 08-13-2011 06:37 PM

I have Calling Captcha and Captcha for a new thread

If you have checked post in Human Verification Option then feature of this mod will not work.

and

i don't want the plugin code, i want plugin title where hook is "newpost_process". you might be having two three plugin running at same hook.

Captcha for a new thread hooked at newpost_process and I checked the rest of the plugins and none are hooked at newpost_process

I attached some screen captures to show you how I have it set up..maybe you can find something wrong..it is still not working for me...

SᴩiDᴇЯ 08-14-2011 02:04 PM

I am running vB 4.1.4 i followed all the install instructions and it works great, thank you great Mod and marked installed.

bremereric 08-14-2011 07:12 PM

It works for a new thread only...I was thinking that it would take human verfication off after 50 posts. I also thought this was to include posting a reply or plus replying to a thread.
My Bad

Could you offer similiar code that would include posting. I want my members to post and start threads with the human verification and cut it of after 50 posts.

Okay Sherif...made me some new code that uses human verification until a user reaches your desired amount of posts his xml is here...this is totally different code then his new thread code...I tested it and it works great...he is paid some money also..

when they hit below the post count I set they get the human verification view and if they have more or equal to the post count I set they get the quick reply of plus reply if they choose.

ndut 10-25-2011 04:28 AM

installed, thank you

Sangheili 12-19-2011 01:57 PM

What features do not work if you do not uncheck 'Post' in Human Verification Options?
