In need of designed category strips
 

I need four category strips that would also be designs.

The first one would be a black background, with a long slash going across like a knife was dragged across or slashed through it. EXAMPLE

There'd also be small droplets and blotches of blood strewn across the strip also. The second one would be designed exactly the same way, except it would have an angry skeleton crawling/peeking through the slash design, as if it's preparing to emerge from it. EXAMPLE 1, EXAMPLE 2





The third and fourth ones one would be designed exactly the same way as the two mentioned above. Except...the background would be a dim red color. And no blood drops would be needed. But if the red set could have a bit of a decay effect added to them instead. Also if a 3-D'esque or looking effect could be added to the strips, that'd be great too. If not, no sweat.

Hmm, I would like to see the board to have a feel for the layout.

When this is all done I will upload them to a zip file, so you can download them..

Yeah I need it in gif. As far as size is concerned...not sure. Because category strips aren't usually sized specifically. But I guess if you can size it in a way where the full design would show, and maybe test it on any test boards you have...that'd be great.

Category strips on vb3x boards are usually 40px in height, they commonly use the url tcat and use repeat-x top left in the CSS attribute to create the length.

This height increases when you add a forum description that places underneath the forum category titile as seen on here at vb.org.

As you are using an image I think this is going to be a test each time to see how it sits on your board.

I would suggest doing a size of 40px X 900px and put your image in the first third to see how it sits as you also have a 'wide' skin to, depending where you want it!

That's awesome. Is that the finalized version or a beginners?

It was more of a mock test, you can create a child forum from the one you want to use it in, upload this image and direct your new category strip to said image.

You will then have a live visual on your board for correct placement.

This will help Rideharder to add all his styles :)

Tested yours RobbieZ. Fits perfectly! Think you could cook up one with an angry skeleton coming out of it?

Based on the size it's going to be really hard to squeeze a skeleton in that little tiny area..
I was able to come up with 2 which is one is animated.. Any adjustments please let me know.. It's no problem whatsoever..

Excellent stuff

You could reduce the category strip by 4-5px and overlap the skeletons head above the strip to fit within the 40px overall height to make it look not only coming out of the slash but the whole category strip itself!!

Great job thanks! I have just one small request, could you take the non-animated skeleton strip, and make a copy that has a red strip-background color instead of black? The shade of red should not be super bright, but not super dark either.
