PHP Optimization

Hello guys

Today i have received this Email from my hosting saying all this........

Can any1 please help me with it pleasee....my site is down aswell and i am receiving lots and lots Email from memberss.......

Here is the thing which they wrote......

Unfortunately I do not have any specific recommendations for these scripts, however, in general, adding some sort of caching mechanism, where the script does not need to generate a new page with every request, helps to lower the over load that a script will cause. Likely the original author or support group of the software that you are using will be able to help you to understand how to add something of this nature.

changing your host may be a good idea if the forum gets too huge for the machine.

Check that all possible caching options are being used (see server optimization in admincp > Options)

Look up optimization of vbulletin (theres a few guides out there, a good one by Digital Point may be useful)

But I'd recommend switching hosts and/or upgrading hosting package

Any host who leaves it that vague is pretty clueless, IMO.

How big is your forum (members, posts, threads, avg. people online)?
What modifications do you have installed?

well i have about 29000 members not many comes online....about 150+...... thread 62690.......posts 619911.....and all the normal mods i have on my forum....like top stats.....visitors in x hours....threads starters in x hour......vb experience......u know all the normal ones.

Your forum has outgrown most shared hosting tbh. If you still want to keep shared hosting you're going to need to ditch any budget hosting like GoDaddy and go for a company with less clients. LiquidWeb is good but there are better ones. Do some research.

We have around half a million posts too and over 200+ members average and have a VPS. Shared hosting with that many actives simply will do NOT do, I'm surprised you haven't crashed earlier. Shared hosting is for newbie boards (no offense to anyone using a shared package but it is what it is, no shared hosting will allow you what you have now without some sort of problems. Also form the sound of how many members you have your hosts has been TOO patient with you If I may say so, bet you've had that package for some time now.
