More Members and Discussions from Advizo

Please remember to click Mark as Installed if you use this modification.

About this plugin:
This plugin will suggest your community to members of our website who ask questions that your members are qualified in answering. We will post questions from our members to the appropriate forum on your website. Your original members will discuss and answer them, and our members then become your members.

Want more members and more discussions?
By installing the Advizo plugin, your forum will be suggested to users that are interested in issues that your community cares about. This drives highly relevant traffic to your site while also providing great, targeted content. This content will in turn generate more traffic from organic search engine listings. This is the power of the Advizo network. Our plugin is a simple and convenient way to connect your site to the Advizo network.

Simplify access to your site while improving content quality
The Advizo network only sends highly qualified members to your site based on what they are looking for. Advizo is a closely monitored network, which ensures we drive only highly focused and targeted content to your site. The result is new members to your site that are already engaged with your community.

Seeing a drop in traffic from Google? Diversify your traffic now!
Lots of great bulletin boards and forums have seen a drop in traffic because of Google?s change in search ranking algorithm (called the Panda update). Now is the time to diversify your sources of traffic! Advizo helps people find communities that care about their interests and concerns. If you maintain a specialized discussion forum, Advizo will route new members and new discussions to your forum. Advizo will automatically glean from natural language analysis which categories and topics your forum specializes in. This also reduces the hoops that users have to jump through to find the right forum topic for them - it?s all done for them.

Please note that this plugin is currently available for English-only sites

Quick Advizo Overview:

Advizo is a community-based service that helps members get their advice from the best communities available. It is a free service and has been recently launched. At present, Advizo is an invitation-only site that is accepting requests to join. We are interested in ensuring the highest quality of membership. Quality is measured by your ability to provide accurate, reliable and useful advice to fellow members. In addition, this process prevents spammers and trollers from interfering. Our membership is limited at present (partly due to when we released the site) and in part due to our invitation only policy.

Advizo has a machine learning algorithm using statistics of the content to determine which forum is best suited for a user's new discussion or question. In addition, we also have human moderation to ensure the accuracy of these suggestions.

In a nutshell, our site will take a users discussion topic, suggest the best forum for it, and using our plugin automatically add this discussion (and the user) as a member to the partner site. Partner site members DO NOT become our members. Nor do all of our members automatically become members of a partner site. We only add a member, if we find there is a match between the partner site's content and our user's query. And as the discussion gets responses within the partner site, these replies are also displayed on Advizo.com. In this manner, users do not have to jump from site to site to get their advice.

At present, this plugin works only with English-only sites. Our algorithm for understanding your content uses language statistics and at present we are optimized for the English language. Hopefully we will expand to many more languages.

Special Pages 06-06-2011 10:19 PM

I think you should have a translator translate it to other languages. :)

nacaruncr 06-07-2011 02:51 AM

can you put a demo or screenshots?
because I don't understand so good :p XD

thanks :)

AttalaEA 06-07-2011 03:02 PM

Thanks for this great Mod. How long it takes till Advizo Activate my account? :)

Alfa1 06-07-2011 08:50 PM

Im not familiar with advizo and see that its only visible for members. I do not understand how google indexes your content, when advizo is only visible to members.

Could please tell me more about advizo?

Am I correct that advizo does not only share its members with vbulletin boards, but that vbulletin boards that install this, also share their members & their content with advizo?

CardMafia 06-08-2011 01:03 AM

Tell us more about Advizo and how it works.

A member asks advice on Advizo and is directed to one of our forums?

How many members does Advizo have currently?

What does this plugin do on my site?

S3Ponline 06-08-2011 01:48 PM

More details :D

I have updated the initial Mod entry to address your questions. If you need more specific information, PM me and I will give you what information you need.

advizo 06-10-2011 09:34 PM

If you have already downloaded this plugin, please download the latest version v.0.1.6 as it contains an important update.

Alfa1 06-10-2011 10:01 PM

Thanks for the clear explanation.

advizo 07-13-2011 09:02 PM

We have made several changes to the VB4 plugin as a result of feedback from our users and would like to suggest that if you were thinking about installing that plugin, please do so now. The updates in this version include the following:

1) Better category/forum suggestion - we understand your forum hierarchy better
2) Better handling of registration and authentication process - accommodates for potential conflicts of registration hooks or other items better.
4) Better ability for us to help debug any issues
3) Minor bug fixes

We look forward to sending more users with this new version 0.2.6.

In addition, we are getting a lot more questions and users so there you will likely get more users in turn.

How do you get a site key? I click on the link on the plugins options which takes me to a place to add a site. But when I try to add my site, it says that the plugin is not installed which it is.

EDIT: nvm it's working now

Tried everything you said and still doesn't work...never mind, advizo is great idea but sign up process real pain in the butt. Registering Swiss bank account online is piece of cake compared to this. Appreciate your efforts, thanks.

Trying this out on my site - 3:33 AM Paranormal Research. :)

paul180 06-17-2012 10:29 AM

Considering the last post was November last year, and that their latest discussion topic on Advizo.com was Asked 9 months ago its fair to say don't expect a huge increase in traffic any-time soon!
