Adding site supporter banners??
 

I would like to know how to add banners on vb 4.1.3 for companies that are interested in advertising on my site?? The banners I have are jpg,gif,xxx,xxx formats not html. Please LMK what I have to do to set this up properly??

you can do this a few ways, one is with template edits. notices & forum blocks.

regardless you will have to turn the banners you have into links. This is how banners are created.

You can test this easily by, uploading your banners to your domain, or other file sharing sites, and turn them into links with easy html/

Just fill in url here & url of image... -leave the quotes. You can test that by taking that code and filling it into the HTML box of a notice to see how it is done.

as well just putting this code into notices, there are also, numerous "adsense" mods around. or other advertising plugins, these can be used for more then adsense, if you would like you can use those mods, to simply put your own ad codes in like the above ones and can promote you forum space to paying advertisers...your friends websites...your other sites..etc..

but you will always need to turn a picture into a link to create a banner.. Very simple with the above code.

Please point me to suggested "adsense mod" capable of doing said actions. I am new to the vb scene so please excuse my vb ignorance ;) I am on 4.1.3

Or even, by using the built in advertising.

Admincp> advertising> Add new ad> simply select where you would like to place an ad>

then insert the details of your banner into the box that says ad html. Select who you would like to see the ad. and your done!

I guess I could use photobucket or something of the sorts to get a html link for the banner pic. I was just looking for something that has that feature incorperated if there is such a mod... :(

I just didnt want to have to go through all types of hoops to achieve 1 goal. I wanted to have the ad banners link back to their main sites...

Basically add ad image>add destination link url>save = clickable banner that reroutes to advertising banners homepage

A single banner can only link to one site, if they have multiple sites they would like to be displayed you would need a seperate banner for each site.....

That is what I am trying to do. 1 banner for each advertiser that links back to their website. I did it through photobucket but the banner clicks back to PB lol..

Sounds like your a little confused,

where it says URL here, that is your advertisers link, where it says URL of image, thats where you put the photobucket link..so it should like this. Change www.supporter.com to your supporter.
