And for Vbulletin 3.8 ?
|
Looking good as usual, thanks guys! :)

Good Job man !

How does this play with the default facebook connect, should we disable it?
|
Interesting stuff, thanks. But, what are the cons? I mean, what's in for your company? Or other said it doesn't look like you make this only for a better world. Is a link set to your site, do you share/collect user data?
Edit: Ok, just saw on your website that you offer different tariff plans based upon monthly login numbers. |
I would hazard a guess that they will force you onto this...
Pricing Schemes http://www.janrain.com/products/engage/pricing Also you can see a demo on a wordpress site i found... http://foreclosurefraudnews.com/ I'd like to know - Does it play nicely with the intergrated facebook connect? - what happens to existing accounts, if I uninstall the mod? - Is the 2,500 limit new registrations per year or a hard limit? |
Thanks for the feedback guys. I was the developer on this project.
@edenx we don't have any plans for supporting earlier versions of vBulletin. Feel free to submit your request to feedback.janrain.com @NTT we'll release a final version as soon as we're confident that the plugin works in a variety of server environments. We've tested it internally but there's always some unexpected results when you release something into the wild. @gamerzhut can you provide some details over at support.janrain.com? This is precisely the feedback we're looking for - making the product more stable. @nitra1000 it should work fine with the integrated facebook connect, although the accounts won't be mutually accessible. An account created with Janrain Engage (even if Facebook is the selected provider) won't be accessible by authenticating through the integrated facebook connect, nor the other way around. If you uninstall the mod the existing accounts remain but because they have no passwords the users will no longer be able to sign in. The Basic/Free plan allows for 2,500 users per year |

nice idea, but the part where you may have to pay
why not just use openID for the logins, it's already around? |
I must be missing something about this mod and the associated business model ...
Regards, Doug |
I use this on my site, for the Wordpress blog section.
If It could get real email instead of proxy email it would make things easy. I run Vbulletin 3.7 with no problems as do many people. Making a plug-in for that would be amazing! It is real simple they make money if you sign-up for their plans, they are a business the free plans work great for small sites. Larger sites may pay for the service, but as simple and easy as this site is to use I don't see a downside. These are some tips for members who are curious about Janrain in general. I don't have the vbulletin plug-in installed but desperately want a 3.7 version. This was the #1 requested Plug-in to janrain by a 100 to 1 margin from website owners. Positives:

I got this response...
Warning: require_once([path]/packages/janrain-engage/include.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [path]/global.php(29) : eval()'d code on line 8 Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/jpm/public_html/forums/packages/janrain-engage/include.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/jpm/public_html/forums/global.php(29) : eval()'d code on line 8 When i enabled it, and tried to load a page, anyone know why? |

The mod does work in vB 4.1.3. I've just done some testing and have verified that it does not work in vB4 prior to 4.0.4 because of a template parsing error in the vB core, but I developed the mod in 4.1.2 and have tested it on 4.1.3 as well.
JPM, the error you're seeing appears to be due to the scripts inability to find the files in the upload/packages directory of the mod package. Please verify that you have followed the instructions in the package's Install.txt file on how to upload the packages/janrain-engage directory to your vBulletin installation root. |

Octavius- I was testing on localhost, but just got it set up on a public environment. You can see it working on 4.1.3 here: http://vbforum.bhamrick.kodingen.com/forum/
This server doesn't support the Human Verification feature of vB so I disabled it here, this has nothing to do with this mod's 4.1.3 support. |

What happens when someone use one medium (for example say facebook) to register and the next time clicks another (say google)?
Is there a way to identify that it is one & the same user? Can I add a field to enter the google id, yahoo id, etc which this plugin can levarage? Regards, |

here is my error App ID (Auto-Populated) and all doesnt update :D i attacht my problem maybe anyone can resolve my problem :D |
I think you need to set the api details up for each of your providers on janrain, then it should auto populate.Simply adding the janrain api won't do anything if you haven't set anything up.
|
hello
i have edit my providers but it's still not shown populated and all :D |
