[USML] Advanced Link Posting Options
1 Attachment(s)
The [USML] Advanced Link Posting Options Version 1.1.0 allows you to prevent users from posting any kind of links in their signatures and/or in the forums (e.g. "www.vbulletin.com" AND "vbulletin.com") until they have reached a certain post count or a certain amount of reputation. This is basically a combination of a couple of modifications that have already been released, but I've added some new features.
------------------ Features ------------------
Installation ------------------
Upgrade ------------------
Uninstallation ------------------
Also, feel free to nominate this modification for the MOTM, and/or use the Donate link to show your appreciation in the time and effort put into this modification. |

Thanks for the reposnse HMBeaty, one more question, do you know where I can edit mods in general in the cp after they have been installed. This is why am asking, I have a mod that I change the message and I have had to change the message from the xml and re-install I believe somewhere inside vb template I should be able to edit the mod without uninstalling it.
Thanks Quote:

Very nice and useful, should be a standard feature of vBulletin if you ask me.

Updated to version 1.1.0
|
Hi. I had installed version 1.0.0 yesterday. Since then it was affecting my rss feed as not updating automatically. Is there some issue with that version.

Has the user posting the feed reached the required amount of posts and/or reputation to post links? |
Nice Nice Nice Mod :d
|
when add image , it will give error permission ,
it should for links not for images that been used between IMG codes |

it see's that as a link. I'm not sure how to get around that at the moment. Your members are still able to post images as attachments though right (it SHOULD let them do that)? |
i hope that you can fix the [img] code
may be if you put option for safe links so we can also exclude our site some new user if they want to complain about links in my site they can put links refer to pages on my site which is safe to be published and many many many thanks for this great product my site now completely safe from spammers |
Not working with VB 4.1.9 :(
|
It works just fine on 4.1.9. What problems are you having?

As always very useful mods..
I wish it can exclude links for images etc. I don't use the post count and or reputation, instead I just make a generic reason so they don't flood the forum to meet the post count (I don't use reputation on site) Thanks |

To ensure your settings are set correctly...
Also, be sure that they're posting links in their signature, and not at the bottom of their posts as some users try to get around things by doing that as well. If that's happening, that's what the other settings are for ;) |
I have 2 small feature request if it is possible
1) Exclude internal links. I'd like it if new members could share things among the community internally. I think this could help conversations. 2) An option to prevent members from posting e-mail addresses. God knowing how troublesome those "bots" or sometimes real people are, who send this kind of message. Quote:

tagged (will apply once I've updated the site). I think this will be replacing an older modification (a collection of 2 or 3 of them). |

Its working fine now tested with new test account :) Just came with Facebook Registered users are able to post link right after registration i will check other setting and usergroup permission :) |
Installed & working
4.1.10 :) Nominated mod of the month Seriously, this is replacing 4 other modifications (maybe a 5th as I track things down) edit: Does this also prevent people from adding a Home Page in their profile? (If so, this may replace a 6th modification) |
In the "Excluded Forums (forum) - Here you can choose which forums you want to exclude from the forum link restrictions." section how do you exclude forums? All mine are listed and I see no way to select them? And links can still be posted.
|
Installed ! Nominated ! Working on 4.1.10
|
installed and nominated. Thanks alots

Has the image urls been updated to allow them to work?
|
Great plugin (I really don't know why vBulletin doesn't offer such options in their default code though).
I did notice a rather confusing mistake though. On the settings screen, under "Post Count Settings (forum)", the description says: "Set the minimum number of posts your users must reach before they are allowed to post links in their signatures. " ... but it should be: "Set the minimum number of posts your users must reach before they are allowed to post links in the forums. " Small mistake, but can be very confusing! |
I love this mod and it is very helpful to reduce spam links, however, it is preventing new users from posting photos of their bulldogs.
Is there a way to remove the attach or img bbcode from being a part of this? |
Perfect.
Simple, easy to install and should slow the huge amount of spammers down enough to catch them. Thank-you! |
Does it work on vB 4.2 ?
