Great, will be trying this soon! :)
FYI: Noticed the 'readme.txt' file is referencing 4.0.x instead of 3.8.x |
Installed without any issues, set permissions by usergroup and specific to quizzes.
Then, as I setup Categories, I noticed that the categories are displaying a bit off as the cells seems to be all over the place in sizing. See here: http://www.unitedstateshistoryforum.com/vbquiz.php Edited: I also don't have the options to 'add quiz' and others when I turned off the 'navbar links' option. Since I have a custom CSS dropdown menu, I wouldn't be able to access the links either way. Any suggestions? |
Quote:
Did you add all the dropdown options to your own menu or did you just add a link to the main quiz center? It should work if you add the same options. |
Not timing out for others that just accessed it, can you check again for the layout of the categories?
I have a custom CSS dropdown that I'm building and it does not have any of the 'default' links in it. What are the links/pages that I should be using so that I can add them in myself? |
Quote:
If you look at the template dbtech_vbquiz_nav_button_dropdown you can see the 5 different links |
Adding the links now, thanks.
Yes, talking about the width of the categories and how the sizing is off. Is that something that should/will be fixed? |

dbtech_vbquiz_home_cell And change the top line Code:
<td class="alt1"> Code:
<td class="alt1" width="33%"> |

Very good. Thanks Dylan! :)
I added a little image before the category names to give it a little more color/style. :D http://www.unitedstateshistoryforum.com/vbquiz.php Edited: Found a small bug as I was creating my first quiz. See attached as the "BBCode" phrase seems to be displaying incorrectly. |

$vbphrase['bb_code_is_x'] = construct_phrase($vbphrase['bb_code_is_x'], $session[sessionurl], $allow_txt['bbcode']); |
Any chances of an importer from old vbquiz?

Started changing some of the phrases this morning as I was creating my first quiz and noticed a couple of grammatical/spelling errors for future fixes....
setting_dbtech_vbquiz_disable_results_field_desc - Showing the word "read" misspelled as "readd" setting_dbtech_vbquiz_branding_free_desc - Showing the word "license" misspelled as "licence" setting_dbtech_vbquiz_create_thread_score_desc - Showing the word "an" which should be "a" setting_dbtech_vbquiz_date_readonly_desc - Showing the words "accidentally" and "erroneously" misspelled as "accidently" and "erronous" setting_dbtech_vbquiz_timer_background_desc - Showing the word "would" misspelled as "wuld" dbtech_vbquiz_cat_not_judged - Showing the word "Thank" misspelled as "Thanks" dbtech_vbquiz_end_before_start, dbtech_vbquiz_img_type, dbtech_vbquiz_start_before_end, dbtech_vbquiz_no_answer_num - Showing the word "browser" misspelled as "browse" dbtech_vbquiz_info_new_end - Showing the word "soonest" and it should be "nearest" dbtech_vbquiz_miss_bad_x, dbtech_vbquiz_no_exit, dbtech_vbquiz_no_perm_admin, dbtech_vbquiz_no_perm_app, dbtech_vbquiz_no_perm_complete, dbtech_vbquiz_no_perm_create, dbtech_vbquiz_no_perm_del, dbtech_vbquiz_no_perm_edit, dbtech_vbquiz_no_perm_judge, dbtech_vbquiz_no_perm_judge_self, dbtech_vbquiz_no_perm_no_results, dbtech_vbquiz_no_perm_posts, dbtech_vbquiz_no_perm_rep, dbtech_vbquiz_no_perm_take, dbtech_vbquiz_no_perm_unapp, dbtech_vbquiz_no_perm_view, dbtech_vbquiz_not_valid, dbtech_vbquiz_recomplete, dbtech_vbquiz_take_not_app - Showing "in error" and it should be "an error" OR it can be "was done in error" instead of "is in error" dbtech_vbquiz_not_registered - Looks like the 'br' tag is has a comma instead of the bracket '<' dbtech_vbquiz_req_missing - Showing the word "complete" misspelled as "compelete" ......and two other things on the quiz page. See attached in reference to my questions. Question #1 is about how to change the vBQuiz next to the quiz title (left circle on my image) and Question #2 is that there seems to be something missing on the Quiz Options dropdown. |
FYI: Just finished a quiz and approved it, but no new thread was added to the specified forum. Does it take time to do that or should it show automatically upon approval?
DEMO QUIZ: http://www.unitedstateshistoryforum.com/vbquiz.php Also, I can't get a 'registered member' to take the quiz. It continues to show the message: "We are sorry but your quiz entry must be approved before you can continue. Please speak with the administrator if you feel this is in error." I've set the 'registered member' usergroup for "yes" on "Can View Quizzes" and "Entries Auto Approved". As well as "yes" for the "Can Enter Quizzes" through the "vBQuiz Entries & Voting" portion of the usergroup permissions. Is there anywhere else that I need to set the permissions? |
nm :)

I changed most of them, thanks for finding the errors. Although, license is the correct spelling here in America. The title of the quiz is set in the dbtech_vbquiz_quiz_view template. Code:
{vb:rawphrase dbtech_vbquiz_nav} - {vb:raw quiz_data[quiz_name]} Dylan |

Couple of other questions... 1. Can the avatar on the 'comments' be smaller than the normal/default sizes? Maybe force it to 100x100 (see here: http://www.unitedstateshistoryforum....p?do=quiz&id=1) 2. Can you have the ratings stars as png so that the background doesn't look off? (see here: http://www.unitedstateshistoryforum....p?do=quiz&id=1) Another Note: IE9 is showing just a bit off on this page .... http://www.unitedstateshistoryforum....&category_id=2 (see attachment) |

I'll check it with IE9. I created a registered user test account and I was able to take the quiz? Not sure why your other account can't do it. Which account name was it? It did not create the thread though, I'll see if I can find out why that's happening. Dylan |

Good news on the avatar option and the stars
The other account was FreedomGal that I used. Just a regular registered member. I'll keep my eyes open for the threads. Another couple of notes: 1. The 'delete comment' button is very near the username dropdown in the comments. Not sure if you wanted to give it a little more space to avoid issues with folks accidentally deleting the comments. 2. Who's online needs some adjustment as it's showing 'unknown location'. (see attachment) |

I'll fix the delete button and the unknown location. The space when viewing a quiz looks fine to me with IE9, not sure why yours is so spread out in that image. EDIT: I fixed the thread create. Put the attached file into dbtech/vbquiz/actions Dylan |

Alright, uploaded the file. Tthe auto-create thread is working now
I took a quiz with the "test" account that you used and it worked. Not sure why the other account isn't working. By the way, I tried to add comments to the quiz (see attachment) from the quiz page as your test account and it gave me the following error.... "We are sorry but the Email Fields is missing or inputted incorrectly. Please speak with the administrator if you feel this is in error." ....looks like the wrong phrase there as I wasn't trying to email, simply add comments. And, not sure why it wouldn't allow me to comment. |

If that can help, there is an option in inferno one to export quiz. Perhaps adding an import :) would be easier?
Secondly... uncache template in memberinfo Uncached templates: dbtech_vbquiz_member.css (1) Uncached templates: dbtech_vbquiz_search_quiz_row (2) (this one when viewing User Created Quizzes and When trying to view "quiz that I have created" Nothing shows Third. View screenshot. |

I'll fix the uncached templates in the next release. as far as quizzes created I'll have to take a look if you want to pm me your forum link. The blank space in the dropdown is just to have a separator for the delete so it doesn't get clicked by accident :) Dylan |

Dylan,
I found a couple of small bugs about the profile comments tab/portion. The tab, when not 'inactive', is bigger than the font. It's adjusted based on the 'active' state where the font is much larger. (see attachment) How can we adjust that? Also, if the usergroup is not allowed to create quizzes, then we should not be able to see the "username has not created quizzes" message/area. (see attachment) |

I'll add the hiding created history for those without access to create them to the feature list |

Dylan, I had another member take the quiz and when I looked on the Quiz page I noticed that we could use some layout fixes/changes.
See attachment (FYI: I'm using Google Chrome for reference) #1 - Bigger avatars 'push' the dropdown controls to under the username #2 - History for 2nd person taking quiz is gone (is there a time/day limit on those showing?) #3 - There should be some sort of line or something separating the users that have taken the quizzes for a better styled look. |
Quote:
The history is for your user only. It is to show the scores you previously got on the quiz. If you have the permissions you can view all who took the quiz by going to the quiz options and selecting the current entries. Next version will also have those images controlled by the acp setting and a line at the bottom of each entry to separate them better. Dylan |
Oh, so it's not of every user (even if I'm the admin), but only your own. Got it. Well then, we may want to set that cell to the side or make it stand out more as a 'your own' taken scores instead of just "taken history" which seems to be a general heading for all scores.
