Verify Email Before Registration

MOd version 1.0.0

This is an updated version like vmail for vB 3.8X

No bots can get by this. I had only 1 comment spammer try to get by this but he failed, no need for stop forum spam with this. The applicant has to submit his email and then gets
a code sent to his email that has to be entered before registration.
Sharing this simply because its need here not just in the darkside.

I like this a lot. I suppose the only problem I would have is the users who don't seem to get the verification email instantly (sometimes it is delayed for a bit), and I feel they would probably give up and move on if they had to wait for it to arrive before they could complete their registration.

I have no delay time with it, maybe its server specific the delay time.

Thanks for releasing this. I previously used vmail. There was a serious problem with vmail: it changed how vb handles the change your email function.

I have software running that moves users with inactive email addresses, to the 'users awaiting email confirmation' user group. Members then need to reactivate their account again by validating their email.

Does your addon change the way registered members change & validate their email?

Yes it asks to resend the code for a new email

TAGGED!
Is this the same as the option to require verification email on the admincp?

NO its not the same, it adds to it to stop 100 percent of bots and spammers, except for actual comment spammers who may register manually. I have not had 1 bot register since using this.
I check logs and then ban the bots ip.

Do you have permission from PlayerOne to be posting this mod on here?

Or even from Leon.SYR for using his English translation?

Regardless of the above you should at least be giving these guys credit for this mod, many will assume that this is your own work.

I like the idea of this mod. I am testing it out on my forums. One thing I noticed so far is a endless loop between birthdate check and email verification if COPPA is set to "Deny registration for those under 13".

One question. Does this mod automatically turn off, Verify Email address in Registration? I thought I had mine on, but I went to turn it off and, well, it was off. :)

Yes it does.

Thanks. One other issue is that the font color remains black no matter the style of the forum on the email check screen; I use a dark style. Some would chalk this up as an issue with my style, but I do not have this issue with the other registration page. Only on the page where I enter my email address to get the code.

I would like to know this as well.

So would I.

Is this your own code? If not, did you get permission to post this from the developer?
