What version of php and mysql are you using?

Did you fill out your config.php file using notepad as a text editor? If not, what did you use?

Kiran-E-Sehar 03-04-2011 06:08 PM

Php version 3.3.9
Mysql 5.1.52

and i used DreamWeaver for editing config.php file

PAKIDIL 03-04-2011 06:12 PM

make sure you uploaded file as ascii only image as binary.

Lynne 03-04-2011 10:15 PM

Minimum requirements for PHP are 5.2.6 or later.

Kiran-E-Sehar 03-04-2011 10:47 PM

sorry for miss understanding i have 5.2.6 version

Lynne 03-05-2011 03:04 AM

It really sounds like you have not edited your config.php file correctly. Dreamweaver should be fine for editing, so I have to wonder if you did something other than just edit what you were supposed to in the file - like add an extra line at the beginning of the file. I'd suggest redoing that file and only editing the lines you are supposed to and double-check the information you enter.

The classcore.php and the class_upgrade_ajax.php errors looks like it's coming from the config.php and not editing it properly.

Due to the following errors, the install/upgrade can not continue:

*
* Error description:
* The database has failed to connect because you do not have permission to connect to the server. Please confirm the values entered in the includes/config.php file

Lynne 03-06-2011 03:39 AM

It doesn't sound like you have input the correct information into your config.php file. If you need to, you may need to verify the database information in there with your host.

Hello again

(09:48:48 AM) Kashif: hello

(09:49:49 AM) Kashif: i was trying to install vbulletin 4.1.2 but having a problem
(09:50:07 AM) Donald Ha: What is the problem?
(09:50:36 AM) Kashif: cant connect to database
(09:50:46 AM) Kashif: # Error description:
# The database has failed to connect because you do not have permission to connect to the server. Please confirm the values entered in the includes/config.php file
(09:50:55 AM) Donald Ha: What is the URL where I can see this error?
(09:51:10 AM) Kashif: http://www.kiran-e-sehar.com//forum/install/install.php
(09:51:27 AM) Donald Ha: Thank you.
(09:53:54 AM) Kashif: ?
(09:54:37 AM) Kashif: r u there?
(09:54:48 AM) Donald Ha: YEs I am.
(09:54:52 AM) Kashif: k
(09:54:56 AM) Donald Ha: The issue is, your config file is incomplete
(09:55:16 AM) Kashif: no i damn sure that file is complete
(09:55:30 AM) Donald Ha: I went to public_html/forum/includes/config.php and the only coding in it is this

<?php
/*================================================= =====================*\
|| ################################################## ################## ||
|| # vBulletin 4.1.2
|| # ---------------------------------------------------------------- # ||
|| # All PHP code in this file is
(09:55:34 AM) Donald Ha: That is it.
(09:55:39 AM) Kashif: i cheked atleast 20 times
(09:55:44 AM) Kashif: yes
(09:56:28 AM) Kashif: will u plz tell me
(09:56:34 AM) Kashif: where is problem?
(09:56:34 AM) Donald Ha: The coding is not closed.
It ends in mid-sentence.
This file should have a lot more such as defining the databse to use and the server and the password and....well...a lot more information than what I posted before.
(09:57:04 AM) Kashif: oh
(09:57:13 AM) Donald Ha: Yes.
(09:57:17 AM) Kashif: how can i fix this problem?
(09:57:42 AM) Donald Ha: Find the correct config file. Upload it. Edit it to match your database/user/password/server
(09:58:32 AM) Kashif: i have downloaded this file direct from vbulletin official site
(09:59:45 AM) Donald Ha: Kashif, then maybe something happend but you should get the correct file.
(09:59:56 AM) Kashif: :(
(09:59:59 AM) Donald Ha: As I said, the config file would have in it the databse information

Lynne 03-07-2011 05:25 PM

So all that is in your config.php file is what you posted above? It should look like this - http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/config.php - only with your information in it.

Special Pages 03-07-2011 05:30 PM

Code:

<?php
/*======================================================================*\
|| #################################################################### ||
|| # vBulletin 4.1.2
|| # ---------------------------------------------------------------- # ||
|| # All PHP code in this file is

Above code shouldn't be all the text in the config.php file. You must have deleted something.

Kiran-E-Sehar 03-08-2011 01:30 AM

yes in this file all the text was deleted but it was happened only once

anyhow
