Hi,
I just posted a thread in the "How Do I" forum asking if it was possible to have both custom user titles AND also have their user status (junior member, moderator, etc) show up in the postbit template. Ed said that this would require hacking to do. I was wondering if there is already an existing hack to do this. This is an example of what I want: http://www.totalff.com/forum/showthr...?threadid=2646 I'd appreciate it if you could tell me if there's already an existing hack to do this. If not, would it be difficult to make? Thanks a lot! |
Yeah, I like this too, can anyone do it?
|
It's not both, I think. From what I see on that forum, only the Administrator has both a custom title and his status under his nickname.
This isn't a custom title PLUS user status, no it's just one custom title using 2 lines. Input field for the custom title: Gundam Pilot
Administrator That's how you can make a second line appear, and in bold (or italics, whatever you want). You can also add the Glow filter (IE only) to user titles, though I can't recall the exact code for it right now. I'd have to look it up, I don't use it myself, but I've seen other people use it. |
Yeah, but...
I would like to keep their user status set by me (ie, jr member, member, senior member, etc...) and have be able to add a custom title like they do now...preferably UNDER the avatar... |
Create a new custom field, use that for so called "custom usertitles", and keep the current usertitle for the so called "user status". Got it?

I will try that...

Forgot something.
You might wanna empty the modifyprofile_customtext template, so that mods cannot change their usertitle to something else than moderator (hey, they got the new custom field for that!). :) OR if you don't want to empty the template, remove $customtext from the modifyprofile template. |
thanks a lot guys./

Any time. :)

This is probably a stupid question, but how would one go about to display (where the old custom text was)the new custom text that we have created.
|
Nevermind I got it.
|
on our forum we just started accepting subscrptions... For the folks that pay the $3.00 a month I want them to be able to update their user status titles to whatever they like but the freebie registered users staying within the jr, member, senior.... how can this be done?
|
If you look in my profile, one of the hacks is a styles for premium members hack. One of the addons is to allow only premium users to use custom styles.

this is cool.. i will add this for styles.. but Amy, what I was looking for is a way only paying members can change their status title.. like say here you are ultimate hacker.. but if you were a paid member you could change it to amy rocks... but being just a registered member you are forced to keep ultimate hacker... hopefully that makes it a bit more clear on what I'm going after.
