Icon Legend - Remove
 
This modification will REMOVE the Icon Legend found on your Forum Home page.

Pros:
Will save on bandwidth (a little)
Will make your page load quicker
Will give your forum a cleaner look

Cons:
No Legend for the absolute noob (newbie)


You should always backup before making edits.

Even if it worked fine on your test site.


In FORUMHOME in your theme (style / template)

Actually, it would be wiser to enclose this in the vb:comment tags instead of removing it completely.

Personally I think loading less page code is better for optimizing your community.

It's easier to remove the comment tags instead of adding back the code in case they ever want to reverse it.

The reason I do it this way is when I update VB to the next version, it does not find a template that needs updating. I prefer not hacking templates unless extremely necessary.

I apologize for stepping on any toes here, that was not my intention. I was just trying to offer some advice that would make reverting it easier. To answer you question, wrapping it in the following is what I meant:

It was not updated for 4.1.1 yet and does not do all it says for that version

meh ..... No worries. Everyone is welcome to their opinion and also its good to learn new things.

But if you ever learn how to remove the forum legends, by removing code... As I've yet to find out how to do this.... It would be helpful. :)
