1 Attachment(s)
Hi,

I want to change the default colors in members profiles which is not customized, for examlple in attached screen-shot, I want to change the color of (Vistor Messages) from Gray to white. I tried to change some colors from (ADMINCP - Stylevars - Profile Stylevar) but no thing changed !

sadiq6210 01-20-2011 11:53 AM

Is it a bug?

I am trying to change any color in default profile (not customized) but nothing changed !

I have posted this a few times over on vbulletin.com (the CSS you may use if NOT using profile customization). Have you done a search over there?

You mean this?

But I am using profile customization and the users can use it also. I just want to change the default colors for all users didn't customize their profile colors.

i.e. My theme is red, so, I want to change the "default" profile color to red, but the user can customize his profile from the red to different colors.

If you have custom profilization on, then you, the admin, just sets the colors in their own profile and clicks Set as Site Default. Then everyone's is set like that initially and then you can all style them.

I may just be tired, but I could not find where to set the option for 'custom profilization' in my admin panel. Where is this located?

Lynne 01-25-2011 05:18 PM

Profile Customization is is a usergroup option in Usergroup Manager > edit usergroup > Can Customize Profile and also it must be set in AdminCP > Settings > Options > User Profile Options > Enabled User Profile Features > make sure Profile Styling is checked

Thank you Lynne, I was found everything I needed.

Once again, you've been amazingly fast and helpful on these forums. Not sure what I would do without you!

queengoc 02-10-2011 10:13 PM

I am the admin of our site. I customized my profile and would like to set this as the default but I can't find that option on my profile page. Can you tell me where to find that link? Thanks!

Lynne 02-10-2011 10:20 PM

You find it when you have click Customize Profile. It is one of the options along with Save. You must be running 4.1.1 though and probably need to be a Super Admin (have your in the config.php file).

queengoc 02-10-2011 10:43 PM

I am a super admin but I haven't upgraded to 4.1. I'll do that tonight, thanks Lynne!

I upgraded to 4.1 and made myself super admin (turns out I wasn't, LOL) but I'm still not seeing the set as default option. Please help.

Lynne 02-11-2011 05:41 PM

Are you in the administrator group? And running 4.1.1 with all default files AND upgraded templates?

queengoc 02-11-2011 08:09 PM

Lynne, I am in the administrator usergroup. I don't have an administrator group. Is that the same thing as the groups section of the forum?

I think everything is upgraded correctly, 2 templates I had to revert and it said it merged everything else.

Lynne 02-11-2011 10:15 PM

Create a new style with no parent:
  • Styles & Templates > Style Manager > Add New Style
  • Parent Style: No Parent Style
  • Title: Default vBulletin
  • Allow User Selection: Yes
  • Save
Then browse the site using that totally default vbulletin style - do you still have the same problem?

queengoc 02-12-2011 07:00 AM

I'm so sorry Lynne, I know this is a simple question, I did everything you said but I don't know how to go on the board and switch the view. I tried searching but haven't found the answer. How do I change my template view?

Lynne 02-12-2011 04:09 PM

AdminCP > Settings > Options > Style & Language Settings > Default Style

Will this change the view for the everyone? If so I'll wait until the middle of the night to try. Will let you know how it goes.

Thanks Lynne!

I switched to default style and there was no option to make my profile the default profile page. Did I make myself a superadmin correctly?

queengoc 02-15-2011 01:05 AM

Anything else I can try?

Lynne 02-15-2011 03:53 AM

You did not make yourself a superadmin correctly. You are supposed to enter your userid, not your username, into that field.

queengoc 02-15-2011 04:04 AM

Ahhh, thank you so much! Usually if there's not a diagram or written instructions I'm a little lost so I had a feeling I did something wrong.

It worked! Thank you again Lynne for taking the time to help me through this.

On vB 4.2.0 PL 3, can you use the 'Set as Site Default' option and have it different for every style? For instance:

Black and red style - Create a user account and edit the colors of it to match the style, then click 'Save as Site default' as an Admin

Green style - Create another user account and edit the colors of that and do the same as the above

Is there any way to edit the default profile colors differently for each and every style after it has already been created? Or would you have to re create each style? Because currently I have all my styles as child styles under my default one, but the default profile colors from the parent style do not work well with some of the child styles and so I decided to download the child styles and re upload them as altogether separate styles but, of course, they still have the default profile colors from the original because it's the same code. Is there any way to modify the default profile colors per style?

No, to have it different on each style, you must use the style variables.

Gary_Oak 05-19-2013 02:03 PM

So I can do it on a pre-existing style? What would I need to edit in the stylevars? Thanks for the help by the way
