Version 1.1 - Updated to work with Tapatalk AND Tapatalk 2.

Tapatalk (www.tapatalk.com) is an add-on for vBulletin to allow uses with iPhones, Droids, Blackberrys, and other smart phones to easily view and post on your forum.

However Tapatalk has one annoying feature- It adds a "Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk" message at the end of each message if the user posting has enabled this feature.

NEW - As of April 2016 Tapatalk no longer allows Admins with free accounts to shut off the signatures from users using Tapatalk. This mod has become useful again.

This mod will hide or replace at your option all of the "Sent from my X using Tapatalk" messages giving you a cleaner looking forum.

At your option you can also replace the signature with something else, perhaps a small image or a link or whatever you want, HTML is allowed in the replacement.

This works for VB 3.7, 3.8, 4.0.x, 4.1.x and 4.2.x versions of vBulletin.

I actually use mine (customized) to let members know why my typing is so bad. :)

This won't remove any customized signatures, just the default ones most people seem to use.

FYI I personally set a replace with a small tapatalk icon image that when you mouse over says "Posted with Tapatalk"

I put instructions on how to do this in the txt file, you can use this image or find/make your own.

I am aware but each user must do this and we often find people who don't disable it for whatever reason. This is a way to override that. I would suggest you still ask members to disable it on their own.

I really don't know what it could be, this is a very simple mod, not much that could go wrong, it's just a few lines of code. My guess is something is conflicting with another mod... Is it possible to get a list of your other mods? If you go to Plugin Manager I'd be most interested in any mods that might have a plugin on the postbit_display_complete hook.

Nope, it does not remove it form qoutes. In post is hidden, but when I click reply to such post it shows up signature in quotes as I posted.

I wished tapatalk would allow forum owners to disable the tapatalk signatures. My users have all customized there signatures into a myriad of dumb things which take away from the forum and ultimately waste bytes of database storage.

This stupid Tapatlak's signature is forum disease. I am thinkig about uninstaling support for tapatalk.

Did you think about adding option for complete removal of Tapatalk signature from database?

It's something I'm going to play with but honestly I hate risking database changes, if something went wrong I'd feel too bad. If I do get something together I'll be sure to post it here for people who want to use it at their own risk. I'm thinking a scheduled task that runs every 10 minutes maybe and looks for Tapatalk signatures...

Yeah! Cron job would be great. If I knew how to do it, I would do it.
I saw some ideas about removing sig at the moment of posting. But that would take to many server resources. Cron job would be the perfect solution.

I looked at the code from VB Pro Garage Timeslips and I can't imagine it is causing the problem, but then again I can't imagine there is a problem to begin with. I don't suppose you have a test site setup I can get access to to play with some things?

Doesn't work for me either. I have tried modifying the Tapatalk signature and then I tried just leaving the field blank to remove it and neither worked.

Ok, I think I now see why it's not working. I assume that my default "Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk" string must not be listed in the mod.

Due to overwhelmed response of this work, we will add a switch at the serverside so you will be able to turn it on/off for all members using Tapatalk, the app will not insert signature if you have it turned off.

We will roll it out for next iPhone and Android update. We will also update our Forum Owner Area so you can turn it to off explicitly. :D

This mod uses a regular expression to match any device name... basically it looks for:

"Sent from my XXX using Tapatalk" where XXX is any combination of letters and numbers, underscores, or dashes... the exact regular expression is:

and yes that should successfully match: "Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk" so I'm guessing it must be some other reason it's not working for you.

Majority of users will update the iPhone app within 2 weeks of our app update. Apple did a great job on making sure people upgrade their apps.
