US publishers are paid by check or through PayPal. Foreign publishers are paid through PayPal

Alibass 01-14-2011 03:30 PM

Will give this a try, thanks!

Alibass 01-14-2011 04:27 PM

This is a common issue for new publishers. It means you either incorrectly entered your API keys in the plugin configurations or the website address you entered in our system does not exactly match your website's address. In this particular case, it looks like you did not include the subdomain, www, with the rest of your site's address. For security purposes, API keys are tied to a specific website, and you must enter your website's address exactly.

ProFifaLeagues 01-14-2011 04:53 PM

Looks good will try this tonight and see how we go!
Thanks mate.

That was it, I left off the www :erm: Thanks

Will this version play the movie recaptcha also or is that something different you offer?

We offer our advertisers a wide range of creative types, including video.

Are the payouts based on CPM? CPC? Can you give us an idea of what payouts would look like?

Payouts are difficult to predict.

The way that we compensate our Publishers is based on a rev share (60/40 ~ Solve Media/Publisher). The rev share is applicable when a correctly completed or solved type-in is submitted for an ad unit/revenue puzzle ONLY. Our standard CAPTCHA-like puzzles do not contribute to your payout as they are meant to better secure a site while filling non-advertisement inventory. Payout is also based on the CPT (cost per type-in) rates that we secure with our Advertiser partners. These vary based on Insertion Order agreements and can change frequently. We have algorithms in place that perform all of these calculations and then distribute amongst our Publisher partners. Other factors in your payout include the amount of traffic you get to your site, the amount of times that revenue puzzles are displayed and the places where you place our widget. We've found that places like password resets encourage higher engagement than others.

Typical eCPMs can be anywhere from $1 - $20 depending on your implementation and revenue.

Make money on new users and keep spam out... Win, win

tagged.

(Will be adding this when I upgrade to 4.1.1)

GamerPerfection 01-14-2011 06:34 PM

Tagged.

I'd like to see some posts from those that have installed it and I'd like to see what people say in regards to...

1 - reduction/increase/no change in spam levels
2 - money!!!!!

:)

Antidepresiv 01-14-2011 06:49 PM

This is ok, but i think it won't take long for bots to "learn" those words, so spam levels will increase over time, but the security is still more immportant to me than money.. Tagged for now, will give it a try later.. Thanks..

Regards,
Antidepresiv

Some of the revenue-bearing creatives look like standard CAPTCHAs.

Also, we offer our advertisers a variety of targeting options. It is possible that you do not fall into their target group.

Taurus1 01-15-2011 03:51 AM

Whenever I go to the Registration page now, I get the 'email is already in use' warning, and I have some strange email and username already filled in. No image for verification. Went back to reCaptcha, and all is fine again.

CoZmicShReddeR 01-15-2011 07:55 AM

Doesn't this fall under the fact the spammers already broke CAPTCHA code? Because I was using CAPTCHA and had tons of spammer BOTS! And can we chose what ads we want because I do not want to advertise Toyota?

2SQ.ORG 01-15-2011 09:14 AM

Okay having a problem with sign up, it suggest that I check boxes of interest yet I do not see these boxes, I have tried this on 3 different browsers

Lastly I do not understand their payment terms

For example are they considering the payee the publisher? and if the advertiser doesn't pay then they make the payee or publisher pay?

Can you explain please because this makes no sense to me. I will past what is on their website and then you tell me ..

# 6. FEES, PAYMENT AND PRICING.

1. 6.1 Payment Terms. Each Party’s share of Net Revenue shall be determined on a calendar monthly basis. Solve Media shall pay Publisher within thirty (30) days after the close of each calendar month for the Inventory Solve Media sold during the previous calendar month; provided that Solve Media may, in its sole discretion, holdback fifteen percent (15%) of such Net Revenue (the “Holdback”). If Solve Media elects to employ the Holdback, Solve Media shall release each such Holdback within thirty (30) days after Solve Media’s receipt of complete payment from the advertisers for the Inventory that was the subject of the Holdback. In the event Solve Media has not received complete payment from advertisers within one (1) year after the month in which such Inventory was sold, future amounts due to Publisher hereunder shall be subject to a setoff, reduction, and/or recoupment by Solve Media in the amount of such shortfall. For Inventory sold by Publisher, Publisher shall pay Solve Media within thirty (30) days of Publisher’s receipt of payment from the advertiser. Publisher shall pay Solve Media the fees associated with any House Ads within thirty (30) days after receiving Solve Media’s invoice. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary herein, if a Party’s earned balance is less than Two Hundred Dollars ($200), no payment shall be made until the amounts owed by the other Party exceed such amount. If a Party disputes any payment made hereunder, it must notify the other Party in writing within thirty (30) days of any such payment. Failure to so notify the other Party shall result in the waiver by the Party of any claims related to such disputed payment. Payments shall be calculated solely based on records maintained by the Parties. To ensure proper payments, each Party is responsible for providing and maintaining accurate contact and payment information with the other Party regarding its account.
2. 6.2 Exclusions. Solve Media shall not be liable for any payments based on (i) any fraudulent impressions, fraudulent clicks, or fraudulent type-ins or completions of puzzles, or the like, generated by any person, robot, automated program, or similar device, all as reasonably determined by Solve Media; (ii) impressions commingled with a significant number of any of the fraudulent occurrences described in (i) above; or (iii) any breach of this Agreement by Publisher. In addition, for the sake of clarity, if a Party does not receive the applicable payment in full from any advertiser, its liability or responsibility to the other Party shall be reduced by the pro rata amount not collected from the advertiser (and the other Party hereby releases the selling Party) with respect to such uncollected amount. Each Party shall exert commercially reasonable efforts to minimize bad debt and to collect all amounts due to the Parties.

I hope this helps :/ ... Thx installed

onehost 01-15-2011 11:59 AM

I do not mind showing ads for money...In fact this is a very good idea just to create my own ads and show to my own
members, and i keep all the money..and captcha is crap...you need to allow members to setup their own random
questions....any computer can figure out letters on the screen, but how many can figure out what the color of the
sun is, or the color of the grass? I have had the same questions on my forum for months now, and not one bot
that I am aware of has gotten past the actual random questions...captcha is useless....

haha nice thnks !

MasJ 01-16-2011 08:50 AM

I installed this a few hours ago and it worked fine. Even my solve media control panel showed me that I received 30 type ins (made $0 though..). However, it suddenly stopped working for no reason and now my users are unable to sign up. I had to disable this because of that.

Any idea why this would happen ? I do have HTTP-X-FORWARDED-IP set through my reverse proxy so I doubt that's the issue.. Any ideas ?

Alright, I've managed to fix it, here's what I did:

Replace in class_humanverify_solvemedia.php (Line 30):
$_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR']
with:
$_SERVER['HTTP_X_REAL_IP']

Maybe you should include a check for $_SERVER['HTTP_X_REAL_IP'] or $_SERVER['HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR'] in your script.. ?

Has anyone made any money from this?

GamerPerfection 01-17-2011 08:42 AM

Ok, I understand it now. You only get commission if it is a "brand message". So why do I only get non brand?

There are different CAPTCHA implementations. Breaking one type of CAPTCHA does not necessarily mean that you can break other CAPTCHAs.
Our CAPTCHA is only the first layer of security. We have other security mechanisms in place that will detect and deter spammers.

While you cannot opt-out of specific advertisements, the categories you choose when classifying your website will determine whether certain advertisers target your site.

The publisher is always the payee. The publisher never pays for anything.

I am glad to see you worked this out. This is another issue we have seen before, and it is documented here.

Unfortunately, we have seen the issue on a variety of different reverse proxy, CDN, and load balancing setups. They all reported the true user IP in a different manner. It would be difficult, if not impossible, to account for all the different ways a server may present the true user IP.

You can read about expected payouts here.

Edit your links & remove the double http://

rafiul 01-17-2011 04:26 PM

200dollar is too much high for pay outs. So forget about earnings. If any one need alternate of recaptcha can use it.

Thank you for that very insightful link, but it didn't answer my question as to why i only ever get non-brand puzzles?
